I can't even tell what color this Police officer is, Wayne Isaacs, so he could well be black but on the other hand, he faced disciplinary measures a few years ago, see reference at end:

This was a road rage incident and not while the officer was on duty.

Rest in peace to Mr. Small; how a road rage incident could degenerate to this point is incredible.

"Modified duty"? How about no duty at all in this case!?  :police: We will have to find out more.

Brooklyn Officer Who Fatally Shot Man Is Put on Modified Duty

The New York City police officer who shot and killed a man during a traffic dispute in Brooklyn last week was placed on modified duty on Monday, with his gun and badge taken away pending the outcome of an investigation into the confrontation, officials said.

On July 4, the officer, Wayne Isaacs, fired his 9-millimeter service pistol after he and the other driver, Delrawn Small, stopped at a red light on Atlantic Avenue in the Cypress Hills neighborhood of Brooklyn, the authorities said.

Three bullets struck Mr. Small, 37, in the chest, abdomen and arm, according to the medical examiner. Mr. Small, who had been traveling with his girlfriend and two of his children, collapsed on the street.

Officer Isaacs, 37, was off-duty at the time. He had just finished working a 4 p.m.-to-midnight shift and was driving home, the police said. He has been with the Police Department since January 2013 and had patrolled in Brooklyn.

The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, the police officers’ union, which represents Officer Isaacs, declined on Monday to comment on the department’s action. Efforts to reach Officer Isaacs for comment by phone and at his home were unsuccessful.

The New York Daily News reports the officer involved in the shooting, Wayne Isaacs, was accused in a 2014 lawsuit with a false arrest in which the suspect was "punched, kicked and struck several times in the head and body." The plaintiff also charged that one of the arresting cops called him the n-word before the case was settled for $20,000. The New York Police Department did not respond to Democracy now!'s requests for comment. But, we are joined now by Delrawn -- Delrawn Small's family's lawyer, Roger Wareham, the attorney representing the family. Welcome to Democracy Now!, Roger.

Obviously, no endorsement for this progressive website, but the disciplinary report is in some articles.

Addendum; if the officer was white, I'm sure we'd know, hence, we get the headline:

"Off-duty officer shoots unarmed black man"; still an atrocious story.
