So either you are too dumb to donate correctly or the campaign is set up too poorly to make donating clear.

Quote
Trump surrogate and former presidential candidate Ben Carson, in an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon on Monday night, attempted to explain the Trump campaign’s struggles in the fundraising arena by providing an excuse that some could interpret as questioning the intelligence of Trump supporters.

Carson argued that the reason people aren’t donating to the Trump campaign is that they are “confused” and don’t know where to send the money....

Poor Trump can't just tell him to shut up, that his usefulness has passed.  His dumb statements are entertaining.

To think, at one time I trusted and respected the man.

No, the author is confused not Dr. Carson. There have been several articles recently that said exactly what Dr. Carson said. GOP donors are confused about where to donate to best provide help to Trump's campaign. (Boston Globe, USA Today, etc.)

With two Super PACs jockeying for position of top outside fundraiser, joint fundraising efforts with the RNC, and individual limits on donations to Trump's campaign, donors are confused about where to donate to make the biggest impact.

They respected him because he was a black brain surgeon, and nobody expects a black man to be a brain surgeon. It's like a dog that can count to ten, or a chimpanzee that graduates from sixth grade. But to make it even more impressive, Carson would sometimes open his mouth and a couple of conservative words would come out, making him doubly appealing.

I won't speak for his brain-surgeon skills, but in every other regard, the man is a perfect booby.

There is a button on the home page of Trump's website to donate.
How hard can it really be?
Could be people just don't want to?

  • old times there are not forgotten
They respected him because he was a black brain surgeon, and nobody expects a black man to be a brain surgeon.

I think there is something to that point.  Unfortunately it speaks to a combination of the failure of black culture in the United States, and the human tendency to project statistical norms, or at least familiar observations, onto specific individuals, for whom the norms and observations are not necessarily true.  It's textbook prejudice.

I won't speak for his brain-surgeon skills, but in every other regard, the man is a perfect booby.

One set of skills does not imply another.  Neither business skills nor surgical skills imply political leadership skills.  We'd like to think they do, but for all our complaints about "politicians", some of them do have a distinct skill set which is useful to society at large.

Based on the Trump supporters that I've seen I'm not surprised.

Well this guy is certainly not too dumb to figure out how to donate.

I suspect that the idea of donating isn't on their minds.  One of the pitfalls when he convinced them that he was self-funding.

Trump should get JimRob to do a Trumpathon over at Trump Republic.
