The Day Paul Manafort Put The Fear Of God Into
The Hearts & Minds Of The GOP Establishment

May 5th, 2015

Some are still stunned with the speed at which Donald Trump suddenly elevated himself from front-runner to presumptive nominee following Mr. Trump’s landslide victory in Indiana on Tuesday.

Paul Manafort, Donald Trump’s campaign supervisor, a man who has navigated the often turbulent waters of national politics for several decades, is likely not a bit surprised, for it was Manafort who just a few short weeks ago put the fear of God into a collection of anti-Trump GOP Establishment figures during a posh resort retreat in Florida – a meeting which it can now be said altered the trajectory of the Republican primary race and quite possibly, the future of the country.

"Fear of God?"

God is not on the side of people like Trump and Manafort, of that I am certain.

This Ulstermann nonsense has always struck me as a guy sitting in his underwear speculating on what might have happened in a particular circumstance.  He does have a way with words, but he knows no more than you or I.

Meanwhile, the great Paul Manafort is now leading a campaign staff.  And he has no money to hire anybody.

This has just gotten silly to the point of being stupid.  The only person the GOP Establishment is afraid of is Ted Cruz.

Paul Manafort?  He's one of them.

These would be the same GOP Establishment figures that are still in power, and are still calling the shots.  Also the same GOP Establishment figures that selected all of Trump's delegates for him.  The Convention should be interesting.

Trump will get a fair shake from "longtime party insider and former Congresswoman Enid Mickelsen," who has been tapped "to chair the powerful rules committee."

She "will be tasked with overseeing the committee of convention delegates that irons out a permanent set of rules for the 2016 convention."

[float=left][float=left]"Neither Hillary or Donald Trump are going to be the people that we point our children toward and say, 'I want you to be just like them when you grow up.' That's not the case in this race, and that's a shame." - Enid Mickelsen[/float][/float]

Yeah, he put so much fear into them that the money is just pouring into the coffers.  Oh, wait, no, it isn't.  Trump's campaign has less cash on hand than Dr. Carson's campaign does.

:facepalm2:  The voters selected the winner in each state and the state GOP sets the rules for the allocation and selection of delegates.

The voters selected the winner in each state and the state GOP sets the rules for the allocation and selection of delegates.

i.e. the GOP Establishment.  And when Trump's people don't show up for the selection process, the establishment selects for them.  When candidate supporters do show up, they end up selecting their own delegates who in turn get to set the rules for the next four years.

So which candidate do you think got in the trenches and involved himself in putting an end to the influence of the establishment?  Likewise, which candidate took zero action in the delegate selection process while complaining loudly against the candidate who did take on the establishment at the state level?

Right on, brother...since he ran the second, most important, phase of his campaign the way he runs all of his businesses he's now out of delegates -- bankrupt again.  His slates couldn't pass background checks and/or meet the financial requirements. He can't run a campaign for dog catcher but his supporters want to turn over the keys to the most powerful position in the free world.  Not happening.

Have a flower.

Thank you @HonesJohn, they're lovely.

But what difference does it make that this story was published in May?  And based on the size of your font, it has you quite upset.

The sorry state of the Trump campaign guts his strongest argument-that he is accomplished executive  who makes large organizations  work.
