Five Russia fans in custody after attack in Cologne
Six Russian football fans have been arrested by German police after an attack on a pair of Spanish tourists and their companion at the square in front of the cathedral in Cologne.
A seventh suspect, thought to be around 30 years old, evaded officers.
According to the city's "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" news organization, the assailants were wearing gloves and balaclavas.
The Russians "beat and kicked" their victims, leaving one seriously wounded, police said, without giving details on what sparked the attack.
German police said the men acted in an "extremely aggressive and brutal manner" towards three Spanish nationals - two tourists and their guide yesterday.

This could be called a sports story; but occurring in a different country than where hooligans have been acting and on returning home makes this a bit different. They face up to 10 years in imprisonment.
