The fight will begin in the rules committee. It can change the rules before the convention begins. You can expect a number of rules proposals from unbinding bound delegates to requiring a greater majority to achieve the nomination. I expect Trump's people will be heavily in control of this committee, but it bears watching.I think with each passing poll, as Trump sinks deeper and deeper, more and more people are becoming aware of what a catastrophe Trump will be for the GOP.
Existing nomination rules — including those that bind delegates to vote on the first ballot according to the results of their state primaries and caucuses, as well as those governing nominating a candidate not already in the race — can all be changed, said Utah Republican National Committeewoman Enid Mickelsen.Mickelsen, a vice chairwoman of the national Republican Party committee responsible for putting on the convention, said it’s the delegates, not the party or the candidates, who control the nominating process.
Ryan instructs Republicans to follow their "conscience" on Trump: In his interview for "Meet the Press" that will air on Sunday, House Speaker Paul Ryan essentially gave every Republican license to follow their conscience in whether or not to support Donald Trump.
Not correct, The Rules committee can only propose rules to be voted on by all the Delegates. They have no power to change any rule on their own and there are not enough of them to get their proposed rules passed.
Which....is exactly why he decided to run as a Republican. He's the spoiler candidate.
I pray this happens. I expect it won't. The GOPe have their boy.
It's our fault you know. How dare we live and breathe and think without being in full submission to them.
Facto: #neverTrump a C% defectum rate, et cum praedicta consilia.
Oh. I have him on ignore so I am blissfully unaware. LOL!
I think there is a major message that needs to be sent to all of the GOP delegates:A vote for Trump is a commitment to loosing the election!
I think it will happen. I don't think anybody in the GOP e or not is happy with Trump. And they don't want to lose to Hillary.
