Bill de Blasio’s plan to fight crime in the city’s public housing properties is adding more than 300 LED lights to illuminate dark areas.

The exterior lighting is a “key part of the mayor’s action plan—$140 million comprehensive effort to improve security at 15 New York City Housing Authority sites, home to nearly 62,000 residents,” a press release from the mayor’s office stated.

“Improving lighting at our developments is crucial to creating a safer, cleaner, and more connected NYCHA,” said Shola Olatoye, the CEO and chair of the New York City Housing Authority.

What a phony excuse.  The aim (pun intended) is to help the derelicts, junkies, and drunkards to do a better job of peeing at night.

Oh, yeah. LED lights will really do it...De Blasio is such an idiot it's hard to know where to begin.  I read that he is even unpopular among blacks now, because he has done nothing that has helped them in any way, either in their neighborhood security or in education (since he's been trying to get rid of the charter schools).

As near as I can tell, he has done nothing positive for anyone.  At least communists don't discriminate against the people they are slave masters to.
