And as an added bonus, the man was ill equipped to be president. Just another half term senator in a hurry. No real world experience, just a government worker his whole life. Wasn't likable, voice that grated and dripped with sanctimony. Would have been a sure November loser, in my opinion. Well, at least he wasn't orange, I'll give him that.

What "real world experience" did Big Orange have?  Bankrupting countries, scamming the elderly out of their savings, leasing his name to buildings other people built.

Wasn't likable?  Trump has a 70% unfavorable rating.

Because this election will be about Trump, he will lose.  Hillary can sit back and watch him self-destruct.

On another thread, owners asked that we voluntarily dial back on the "orange" business. It's not even that clever any more.

Got it.

All about him .... let the country decline under four years of Clinton.  Let's lose the courts forever.  Let's lose another generation to socialism.

We will "lose the courts" with Trump

You're wrong about Cruz being "just a government worker his whole life."  He worked for the law firm of Cooper, Carson, and Rosenthal, and for Morgan, Lewis, and Bockius.  He was also an adjunct professor at the University of Texas where he taught Supreme Court law.

As for Cruz being "ill-equipped"...your nominee is a reality-show celebrity.  I don't see how you can even say that with a straight face.

Cruz recognizes that Trump is a lifelong liberal himself.

Besides, Ted's a conservative, and Trump said he didn't need his support.  Why be bothered?

Cruz believes the WH is his God-given birthright.

Pretty scary stuff.

Your opposition to having a conservative in the White House is noted.

Actually the other poster was referring to remarks by Cruz' father that he was 'anointed to lead' the country.

Some find that to not be an attraction to Sen. Cruz. It made or makes no reference to "conservatism," except in your imagination.

Wrong as usual.  Cruz and the Conservatives just recognize that Trump is going to be crushed by the Clinton machine in November, and are only taking the prudent first steps toward picking up the pieces in 2020.

Cruz is praying that Trump loses so he can run for the WH again sooner rather than later.   In fact, it appears he's going to proactively help Trump lose.

Cruz is showing that he has no genuine concern for stopping the decline of this nation, economically and militarily, nor does he appear concerned  that another generation will come of age under the Clinton brand or that the Federal and Supreme courts will be in the hands of Clinton appointees for decades.

Cruz does see himself though ---- and appears ready to choose himself over nation.   But, what do I know, maybe that's the essence of conservatism.

Really? Then she should've made that clear.

What to say to someone who thinks what a proud old father thinks about his son has such a grave bearing on his son's fitness to lead. I don't choose my candidates that way.

I still get a sick feeling thinking about what an absolute fiasco we are in the midst of.

I am a political orphan.

Right!

I am 54 years old.. my first vote was for Reagan... this is the first time in my life... I do not know how to vote.
Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning, they want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.

The words of his father, never disavowed by the Senator.

You might want to google it. Ask yourself how many people might find that to be a lot over the line.

Donny Boy brought it on himself. Your anger is misplaced.

Cruz is an obsessed politician, a man in too much of a hurry, a man with limited experience and acumen,  and this is Trump's fault?  Nah that doesn't pass the smell test.

And, I'm not angry.  I understand Ted Cruz, so nothing he does--or doesn't do--surprises me.

What I found to be a laugh riot about the article....

"Top Conservatives"?   Are you kidding me?

Quote

Dining with Cruz and his chief of staff, Paul Teller, were some of the most powerful figures in the conservative movement.

The spectrum of economic, national security and social conservatives seated at the table included Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint, Club for Growth President David McIntosh, direct-mail guru Richard Viguerie, National Rifle Association board member and former Cincinnati Mayor Ken Blackwell, and Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser, sources confirmed.

Because he's got to help Clinton win in 2016 ... one way or the other ... to make his 2020 dreams come true.  (Or at least try again)

You despise Cruz because he had the TEMERITY to run against your guy. Full stop, end of story.

And all the good the man could do for the conservative cause were he to find himself in position to do in the future so wouldn't reduce your contempt for him an iota.
