One of the most hated left-wing websites in America files for bankruptcy

It’s long overdue.

The left-wing media organization Gawker.com, which recently was ordered to pay wrestler Hulk Hogan $140 million, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and put the company’s assets up for sale, according to USA Today.

Gawker executive Ziff Davis has already placed a bid up for the company’s assets, which starts at $100 million ahead of an auction that is set to be supervised by the bankruptcy court.

Davis is planning on buying Gawker’s blogs, but will not assume the company’s liabilities. The site’s liabilities are apparently estimated to be $100 million to $500 million.
