Jesse Jackson to endorse Clinton

The Rev. Jesse Jackson will endorse Hillary Clinton for president Saturday, according to a press release from the campaign.
Jackson, who was a Democratic presidential candidate in 1984 and 1988, will announce his support at a press conference at 12:30 p.m. Eastern.
Jackson called Clinton "the most qualified and best hope" to rebuild urban America and curb joblessness and gun violence in Chicago.
The civil rights icon previously said his long history of working with both Clinton and rival Bernie Sanders prevented him from endorsing until the party's nominee was named.
Jackson endorsed then-Sen. Barack Obama for president over Clinton in 2008.
He and the former secretary of State worked together decades ago to fight poverty in Mississippi and again when she teamed up with Marian Wright Edelman to tackle children's healthcare issues.
He also coordinated with Sanders on efforts to regulate Wall Street, and Sanders endorsed Jackson's presidential bids in the 1980s.
Jackson now heads the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, a non-profit organization that pursues social justice, civil rights and political activism.
