(Rasmussen Reports)

Thursday, June 02, 2016

Has Hillary Clinton’s wrapping up the Democratic nomination made a difference? Have Donald Trump’s comments about the Hispanic judge presiding over the Trump University case come back to haunt him?

The latest Rasmussen Reports weekly White House Watch survey shows Clinton taking a four-point lead over Trump – 42% to 38% - among Likely U.S. Voters. Fifteen percent (15%) still prefer some other candidate, while five percent (5%) remain undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

A week ago, it was Clinton 39%, Trump 38%. The race has essentially been tied in Rasmussen Reports surveys since last October. Trump had his best showing a month ago, leading Clinton 42% to 37%. The latest finding is Clinton’s high to date.

With the candidates running neck-and-neck, we took a closer look earlier this week at the large number of voters who prefer another candidate or are undecided.

Clinton now earns 74% of the vote from Democrats, up from 68% last week, suggesting that some of Bernie Sanders’ support may be moving her way now that their primary battle is over. Trump has the backing of 72% of Republicans, down from 76% in the previous survey. It remains to be seen whether these are developing trends.

Exactly!  As a matter of fact, Hillary won't get a single vote!

This is a harbinger of disaster.   Ordinarily,  when one party has its presumptive nominee two months before the convention (while the other party is still fighting it out),  the presumptive nominee has a golden opportunity to refine and project his message for the general election, while consolidating support within the party.  Instead,  Trump has squandered that opportunity, and handed Clinton a sword to slay him with irrefutable charges of racialism, if not racism.   Moreover,  Clinton is pitching hard the meme that Trump is temperamentally unstable and unfit for the office,  making the existential argument that Trump cannot be trusted with the nuclear code.

And she's right.

Trump is flaming out,  and will take the party with him.

Interesting insights you're providing about us over at TOS.  "Fled to TBR?"  Most were zotted for daring to express an opinion that doesn't comport with the prevailing groupthink there.  Your eventual response to "Stars & Stripes'" question about "what is TBR" will be equally interesting, I'm sure.

I'm debating some exiled Cruz Bots who fled to TBR on how the Phoney hysteria over the Judge did not hurt Trump. They posted this poll as a counter argument. Any help debunking it would be appreciated.

Good God... that'd be akin to dotting the TBR neighborhood with Section-8 apartments.

But if they do slither over here to infiltrate and start trouble here, we can use that same swarming method of responding as the FReaks do.

Fascinating insight into the mind (or lack thereof) of a RAT (in every sense of the word).

Do we need any more information about this pro-Hillary troll?

Probably not...........

MECH you could have hidden the fact you are a FR Troll if you used a different name here. But you have been caught red handed by the few who dare to even still lurk at that disgusting forum.

Asking FR members on TOS to help you fight your battles here.   Really? Really?

I have never indicated or other wise denied I was not at TOS and here. I have given my nick for both of them when asked. I'm not a troll. I'm an American who has a hobby of arguing with liberals and their surrogates. Its no secret and never was.

It's the trend that's a harbinger of disaster.  Trump should be gaining in the polls as he consolidates his support since his challengers dropped out; instead he's dropping fast against Hillary who's still battling Sanders.   Trump's racialist remarks regarding Judge Curiel have spawned a backlash with Republicans who have been inching toward supporting him,  and Hillary's broadside against his unfitness to have access to the nuke codes is impactful as well.

Trump is getting more and more erratic and impervious to advice.   His nomination will guarantee a Clinton victory.   But there's still time to reject him.

You and the other Trump supporters here have lost the ability to recognize a Liberal.  Or maybe if a Liberal speaks your language you will give him a pass on "Government will fix everything" Liberal political policies that Trump surely has.

I couldn't figure out the "debate with liberals" (i.e. us) bit either.  We might disagree with the idea that Trump might make a good president, but none of us here are liberals.  The former Cruz supporters especially.  I wouldn't even call the remaining FReepers liberals.  They might be deluding themselves about Trump, but they aren't liberal.

RCP shows a big drop for Trump on June 8th, yesterday. Oddly enough Hillary remains constant, no rise. Maybe Trumpsters are jumping to "other" (3rd party, write in's, leave blanks, and stay at homes)

I agree.  How bad does a candidate have to be to be losing to Hillary?  Yeah... Trump bad.

That is why, in spite of some sentiment that a contested convention would be ignoring the will of the people, it's become obvious to me that any effort to prevent Trump from the nomination would be worthwhile.
