Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Tuesday that his persistent attacks against a Hispanic federal judge have been “misconstrued," an attempt to mitigate accusations of racism and intense scrutiny from Democrats and Republicans alike.

Trump has repeatedly argued in recent weeks that U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel should recuse himself from presiding over two lawsuits against the Trump University for-profit education business, in which Trump is a central party, because "he's a Mexican." Trump's suggestion that the judge's ethnic background posed a conflict of interest that made him unfit to preside over the lawsuits stunned political observers and prompted prominent members of the Republican establishment to sharply denounce his remarks.

My prediction is that Trump can't make it 10 minutes through his press conference tonight without mentioning it.  Anyone else want to take a stab at it?

I'm not saying that the Mexican judge is racist towards me, but other people are. They don't think I can get a fair trial because he's LaRaza. They think its unfair and that I'm the victim here. I love him. He's a great guy. We all love him don't we?

If people on Free Republic are representative of trump fanatics, and the probably are, Trump can cause a lot of trouble for people he attacks.  All the little trumpets over there are now lined up trying to vilify this judge.

Next they'll be calling his wife and children with threats.  Trump is a horrible, scary, vindictive man and his followers are almost as bad.

He ought to have pointed that out. Instead he clearly implied that a "Mexican" cannot render justice to a white man. He's either an idiot or he's throwing the election to Hillary.
