Slowly, but surely, the myth that Donald Trump is a great businessman crumbling as it has been revealed that the hotels that Trump managed lost $1.7 billion over 15 years.

Fortune reported:

Trump served as chairman and sometimes CEO of publicly traded Trump Hotels, later renamed Trump Entertainment Resorts, from mid-1995 to its second bankruptcy, in early 2009. Over that period he leveraged his gaming properties to such heights that he gravely impaired their prospects.

From its IPO in 1995 through two separate bankruptcies in 2004 and 2009, Trump Hotels—and its successor, Trump Entertainment—never made money. Year after year its operating profits were decimated by gigantic interest costs. Over the almost 15 years that Trump served as chairman, the casino company posted net losses, excluding extraordinary items, totaling nearly $1.7 billion.

There is no evidence to suggest that Trump is good at business. Trump is very good at making money for himself, but that isn’t the same as being good at business. Bernie Madoff was good at getting money for himself too, but he it through selfish criminal means.

Donald Trump may not only lose in his bid to win the White House but as his secrets are exposed, he may also witness the mythical brand that he spent decades building up destroyed. The evidence is mounting that Trump may not be very good at business, and the only thing the Republican nominee is good at is selling Donald Trump.

Not really surprised to learn this. Trump is a shameless self-promoter of the Trump brand. Each day more is revealed about the lyin' NY liberal. From his confrontational news conference about the delay in giving funds to veterans, to the hard sell playbook from Trump University where sales staff preyed on the weak and naïve, to his continued attacks on Republicans, he is self-destructing before our eyes.

He has made so many unforced errors since Cruz and Kasich dropped out of the race, it seems he is at a loss for how to behave now that he has no one to fight.

Probably the best thing trump has going for him is his ability to stiff his creditors..... after obama... maybe a trump presidency would be good.

Great point.  The harm Trump will do to the Republican party, the conservative movement, the conservative brand, and the other candidates running is going to be enormous.  In the market place of ideas that should sell conservatism, Trump offers insults and ad hominem attacks.  He is the worst candidate that could have won the nomination.

The article is dishonest. Not making as much as one wanted whole still making a Profit is not a loss. All large smart businesses have teams of accounts  making the "profit" tiny so the corps pay little to nothing in taxes. If he had lost as much as the Democrat Propaganda claims - there would be bankruptcies, Besides he pulled what 577 million in profit last year in another article here.

I suppose Trump could release his taxes, like every other presidential candidate since Nixon, and remove all doubt that he's as rich as he says he is.

2 Points.
1 He already released documentation that by law is required to be accurate that contains much more finical information then a Tax form a Billionaire would. The SEC regulated financial paprers he has given to the FEC.

2. IRS papers do not accurately show wealth especially when most of the wealth is in separate corporate entities. Do you think the Clintons list the Income from the Clinton Foundation on their IRS forms ? That not how it works for the ruling class. The IRS paperwork  is pretty much meaningless as its only a snap shot if the single individual's "income."
