Trump plans to insult his way to victory over Clinton
« on: May 30, 2016, 07:07:28 pm »
From the Financial Times:

Quote
“Pocahontas & Crooked Hillary” sounds like the name of a Disney movie. But the words are some of the slurs that Donald Trump has started hurling at the two most powerful women in the Democratic party, Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton, as he gears up for November’s presidential election.

During the Republican race, Mr Trump often said that his wife urged him to be presidential, but that he was forced to mock rivals such as “Lyin Ted” Cruz and “Little Marco” Rubio to close the deal.

One month after in effect securing the GOP nomination, he is increasingly applying the technique that helped him oust 16 Republican opponents ahead of his battle with Mrs Clinton, who is poised to become the Democratic nominee, and Mrs Warren, the firebrand Massachusetts senator.

For months, the Clinton campaign salivated at the idea of Mr Trump as the Republican nominee. But in recent weeks, some Clinton allies have grown concerned that she is underestimating the media-savvy tycoon and struggling to find his Achilles heel. Those concerns have been exacerbated by polls showing the two rivals running neck and neck.

Trump has learned the fine skill of trolling. Sadly, most of his opponents and most of the leftie media haven't learned the basic counter-maneuver to trolling:

Had they done so, he would have been wiped out long ago.

When you have no policies to run on then you run on insults.

They should do, through surrogates, what Rubio did. Poke fun at Trump personally.  His hands, his business dealings, his cheeto face, his manner of speaking.  Trump hates being criticized for his looks.  Use the John Oliver moniker for him:  Drumpf.  And use it everywhere.

The objective is to get him outraged so that he lashes out. And then keep doing it.  Rubio had him off so off message in one debate he had to reassure his supporters that "I don't have a problem down there."

The only way to handle a bully is to smash him in the face, twice as hard.

Hurling insults seems to work for Trump. When the media decides to rip him, that will end.

Just how do you propose they do this?  He doesn't wait to be insulted.  He went after John McCain unprovoked.

No. There's no "do not feed the troll" with Trump.  He has to be hit hard, in ads, on the sides of city buses, on the internet.  Make fun of him.  That's what gets under his skin the most.   So do it.  And don't stop.

My gut feeling is that it will backfire...  People want to know how Trump will make this country better and I mean no slogans.

Do not feed the trump means ignore him. Had the media and other candidates simply ignored him he'd have lost his free advertising that propelled him to the top of the GOP race.

Now, @sinkspur brought up a good point:

They should do, through surrogates, what Rubio did. Poke fun at Trump personally.  His hands, his business dealings, his cheeto face, his manner of speaking.  Trump hates being criticized for his looks.  Use the John Oliver moniker for him:  Drumpf.  And use it everywhere.

But hand-wringing hasn't worked to date. Righteous indignation hasn't worked to date. Defense hasn't worked to date.

And this crazy idea of a non-GOP GOP candidate is just plain stupid...unless they want Her Thighness in office.

There is really only two ways to not feed him: starve him from free media attention or ruthlessly mock him and make him destroy himself.

And, btw, there's only about 1-1/2 months left to do this. Otherwise it will be too late.

Democrat talking points.  Why support a Democrat-lite, when you can get the real thing.

And the source... pure agit-prop, paid for by globalist.

Half of what he has there are jokes and the rest he's contradicted.  Trump has no workable positions to offer.  Never has.

These policy positions were written for Trump. I doubt if he has even read them.

Trump's love of pink marble, his bragging about his IQ and his appeals to voters' racism are all linked. He doesn't think anything is tacky.

"I can't do that; it would be embarrassing" is an important impulse for humans to have. Trump doesn't have it.

And when Trump wins the Presidency he's going to insult America Great Again.

Why yes.  Yes he does.   I have always believed that would be his strategy.

And it will work.   That is literally all he needs to do.  Keep up the attacks on her character and relentlessly mock her and she's toast.
