Report: Trump raises $6 million in first fundraiser

By Harper Neidig

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump raised $6 million at his first joint fundraiser with the Republican National Committee (RNC) on Wednesday, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Per campaign finance rules, the Trump campaign can accept $5,400 per donor. Most of the money the committee receives will go to the RNC.

An unnamed source also told the Journal that the joint committee brought in another $4 million in future pledges.

The fundraiser was hosted by investor Tom Barrack at his Santa Monica home. It had a minimum admission price of $25,000, while host committee members paid $100,000 each and several attendees contributed $449,000, the maximum donation the committee can accept.
