"Blackmail..."In the summer of 2015, Hillary Clinton stated (the quote is still on her campaign website), “I want to send a message to every survivor of sexual assault: Don’t let anyone silence your voice. You have the right to be heard.” According to one source, sixty-eight percent of sexual assault incidents are never reported. But Clinton’s tough talk on sexual assault does not seem to echo her actions during the days her husband was being accused of sexual assault, infidelity, and lying under oath.
In a interview on NBC’s Today Show with Matt Lauer in 1998, Clinton stood against victims’ claims that her husband, the president of the United States at the time, had raped or sexually assaulted them. She told Lauer, “I think we’re going to find some other things. And I think that when all of this is put into context, and we really look at the people involved here, look at their motivations and look at their backgrounds, look at their past behavior, some folks are going to have a lot to answer for.”
