@verga Yep, shame on NY for allowing that to happen, but it is NY so it is not surprising.

A thread about the 2nd amendment that condemns the absence of guns on someone's private property. Could there possibly be a more dimwitted assertion? The answer of course, is no.

The 2nd amendment has nothing to do with someone choosing not to have guns in their own home or private properties. That someone would argue that their is hypocrisy involved in not having a gun in your home or private land demonstrates a frightening ignorance of the constitution and how/when it applies. The 2nd amendment was put in place to ensure all citizens have the right to bear arms in public and on their own private property...you seem to be arguing that it REQUIRES citizens to do so. And that, my friend, is a fundamental misunderstanding of the Bill of Rights...none of which are intended to compel private citizens to do anything on their private property.

Go back, read the Constitution again...take some time to read the Federalist papers...and then try again to discuss this issue once you've come to understand the difference between public and private property. Until you do so, you are just embarrassing yourself by demonstrating a frightening lack of comprehension vis-a-vis our foundational document.
