Pope Francis: Spreading The Gospel Is No Different Than Waging Jihad

Posted By Christian Datoc On 9:35 AM 05/18/2016 In | No Comments

In an interview published Tuesday with France’s La Croix, Pope Francis argued that Jesus’ call to spread the Gospel differs little from the jihad waged by radical Islamic terrorists.

The pope explained how ISIS’ “war of conquest” has bred a non-justified fear of Islam among Western countries.

“I don’t think that there is a fear of Islam as such but of ISIS and its war of conquest, which is partly drawn from Islam,” he told La Croix. “It is true that the idea of conquest is inherent in the soul of Islam.”

“However, it is also possible to interpret the objective in Matthew’s Gospel, where Jesus sends his disciples to all nations, in terms of the same idea of conquest.”

Earlier in the interview, Pope Francis had claimed that the global economy, which “has descended into the idolatry of money,” has widened a perceived gap between Christianity and Islam.

“The initial problems are the wars in the Middle East and in Africa as well as the underdevelopment of the African continent, which causes hunger,” explained Francis. “If there is so much unemployment, it is because of a lack of investment capable of providing employment, of which Africa has such a great need.”

“The great majority of humanity’s wealth has fallen into the hands of a minority of the population. … A completely free market does not work.”

So much wrong with so many of the things he said.

I am a recovering Catholic and survivor of the nuns in grammar school. This pope is beyond words.

The Pope never said what the headline says he said.

He said this: "However, it is also possible to interpret the objective in Matthew’s Gospel, where Jesus sends his disciples to all nations, in terms of the same idea of conquest.”

The headline was an accurate distillation of it. Bergoglio has got to go. He's preaching a combination of Marxism and Chrislam that makes the left drool.

Well, well.  Livius.

Francis is the freshest breath of air to come along in the Catholic Church since John XXIII.  Francis, of course, in the quote above does not mean physical conquest.  You know it and everybody else knows it.

There is no religion forum here, thank God, so you and I won't get into the wars we got into at TOS.

It is nice to see you here and welcome.

This is apparently another one of those "what the Pope meant to say" moments.

To say that the spread of Islam has not included physical conquest -- and amongst radical Islam quite obviously continues to do so today -- is not only flat-out wrong, but outright foolish.

The guy doesn't think before he opens his mouth.

non-justified fear of islam ?- taqqiya, sharia, hijera not just a day at the beach- war of conquest partly drawn from islam- where does the other part come from? Global warming or income equality?

There is no moral equivalency between Jesus Christ and islam. This pope is a Marxist and a disgrace.

The pope and the vatican are high on the list for sharia types. They would love to slaughter all there and  blow the place up. They might get to at this rate soon. Next ten years? NWO pope is what I call him. What happened to the other pope? I thought he was ill and had to leave.....yet he still is alive right?

Does this pope really think he is immune to the caliphate types?  I wonder?

"Pope Francis: Spreading The Gospel Is No Different Than Waging Jihad..."

This guy is simply amazin'.

It's amazing that the Catholic church would have elevated him to the position he holds.

Just don't know what got into the College of Cardinals to do such a thing.

But if his tenure is a portent of the future that's coming for The Church...
... it's going to be a bleak one, indeed.

Jesus is a person; Islam is a religion.  St. Francis of Assisi spent a good part of his ministry among Muslims.  Peacefully received too.

Francis is the spiritual leader of Catholicism and is meeting with the spiritual leader of all Sunnis on Monday.  Much like his namesake.

I guess the Holy Spirit who guides the Cardinals in their choice of Pope didn't consult you.

The Church has been infested for many decades. Look how they treated the pedophiles. Did you Cardinal Mahoney was with this pope in a parade in NY , it was in one of the cities NWO pope had a mass or whatever he was doing  the last time he was there?  Mahoney one of the worst pedophiles the Catholic church had. He was from L.A.
