The president of Guatemala has offered Donald Trump "cheap labor" to build a wall on the border of the United States and Mexico.

"We have high-quality labor, and we'll gladly build," President Jimmy Morales said in a Facebook Live interview conducted by The New York Times en Espanol, reported The Hill.

"Tell us the dimensions, and we know how to do it," said Morales.

Morales was a popular TV comedian in Guatemala, where he appeared on the show, "Moralejas" (English translation: "Morals") for 15 years.

He won the presidency of Guatemala in October 2015, after former Guatemalan President Otto Perez Molina was jailed in a corruption scandal, according to the Independent newspaper.

Morales said he believes legalizing undocumented immigrants will help the U.S., because they will "contribute and pay more taxes."

Morales said Guatemala is losing talented workers to the U.S., and he is at work on programs to encourage them to stay in Guatemala.

Morales is facing an uncertain path toward reforming Guatemala, according to ForeignPolicy.com. The story reports that he has not changed the economic status quo that resulted in poverty in the country.

Morales met with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to discuss "sustainable development and human rights," according to Shanghai Daily.

Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales, a TV comedian by trade, is offering Donald Trump "cheap labor" to build a border wall with Mexico.

"To the gentleman who wants to build a wall, I offer cheap labor," Morales said during a Facebook Live interview by The New York Times en Español.

"We have high quality labor, and we'll gladly build," Morales added. "Tell us the dimensions, and we know how to do it."

Asked what advice he would give to a future U.S. president who wishes to end illegal immigration, Morales took a more serious tone.

"We will contribute. We believe — although I have no reason to involve myself in U.S. migratory policy — we believe that it is necessary to think about migratory reform where many people who are there in an irregular manner will be regularized."

Morales said he believes legalizing undocumented immigrants will benefit the United States economically because those immigrants would "contribute more and pay more taxes."

He also spoke of "human talent" that Guatemala is losing to the United States and of programs to promote employment in Guatemala to keep its citizens at home.

Trump's campaign has centered on the promise of building a border wall and will coerce Mexico in to paying for it.
