As I’ve said before, Trump wanting to “open up” liable laws so that if he is elected, so that he can sue the media for publishing anything he finds “untruthful” or in his opinion being “unfair” to him, sets a very dangerous precedent and an erosion and perversion of the 1st A. And of course not to mention that Trump’s version of the “truth” varies from moment to moment.
But I also have no doubt that this will not apply to his BFF David Pecker and the National Enquirer - the tabloid that published the unfounded and scurrilous claims about Ted Cruz having affairs and mistresses, or the “stories” about Cruz’s father being involved with the Kennedy assassination which BTW, both “stories” quoted Roger Stone as a “source”.
Trump if elected, will do everything he can to shut down any forms of press from publishing anything negative about him, even if truthful, while using some segments of the press, the ones in his pocket like the National Enquirer to attack and smear with innuendo and unnamed sources in order to silence his opponents.
