Well, I'll concede that Trumpsters are THE authorities on falling for cons.

I'm making a choice that keeps Hillary out of the White house. NeverTrumps can't even do that.

No, you're not.  Trump is nothing more than a paler shade of Clinton, with some whacko Sanders economic views thrown in, so you're simply making a choice to put a Clinton variant in the White House, although much more likely you're putting Clinton herself into the White House since Trump will almost certainly lose to her in the general.

Unfortunately that's what happens when people let fear, desperation, and blind spite rule over their God-given rational thought.

What is the big rush? Especially from so-called Conservatives?

When Trump makes even a baby step toward them, I could maybe somewhat respect their decision. I think it's wrong, but it would make a little sense in Political World.

I guess they are buying into, "When rape is inevitable, lie back and enjoy it."

2 is the part I do not like but can see why he looks at it that way. The homeless, Illegals, very poor etc already get and have been getting free medical care - such as by  abusing emergency rooms etc for everything. We already pay for that and because its chaotic ad hoc its much more costly to us then normal routine health care costs. From what I understand he is talking about expanding medicare to that group, which we pay for now anyway, as a cost containment strategy.

Is that Constitutional? No. Obviously not. Its a reasoned cost containment strategy. Hopefully, with the eviction of the foreign parasite class, deregulation and local education it may be a temporary thing.

The Constitution isn't about "cost containment strategies." It's a document that clearly has as part of it is to limit the size of the federal government. Medicare is unsustainable, and for all practical purposes, bankrupt as  is. Expanding Medicare isn't going to put it on a path to sustainability or contain costs in anyway shape or form. What will is cuts. Deep cuts in Medicare. Trump, as usual, has not only no clue on the role of the federal government but also on the real scope of our debt and policies as well.

And folks, the part I bolded is the big problem us conservatives are going to face with not just Trump supporters but the population as a whole. Many of his supporters are not concerned with the federal government growing along with the debt and deficits growing as long as "their guy" is running the show. They believe, since Trump has successfully ran a big business, he will be the one to successfully run a big, expansive federal government. They see him as their chance to rule with a "pen and a phone." Very similar to the left's line of thinking that the reason socialism hasn't really been successful is the wrong people were always running it

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

You honestly don't believe all that manure do you? You guys are the very reason we've had 8 years of Obama.

And you can ***.   Do you think I relish having to vote against my beliefs and self interest?   Trump's an existential threat  (see Thomas Sowell's column),  and I care more about my kids staying alive than I do about SCOTUS appointments

I take the "***" part back but, Bill said in this very thread that voting for Trump was out of irrational fear and desperation.

Which is it?

I'm a Christian. Christians voted more for him then the Liar. If I thought he was like Hillary/Obama i would not be supporting him. I do not agree with your opinion of him.

This is quite good.   ^-^

So now Trump is doing God's work.  This is the second time in the last week  I've seen God brought into the discussion about Trump by his Trumpkins.

Next thing you know, they'll be posting images of Trump on toast and RIV will be seeing apparitions of Trump in the water in her toilet.

Last year it was Obama or Hillary as the AC. Maybe it's all of them? :pondering:

Is such really necessary in advancing a discussion of Trump's many shortcomings? The owners here have made it clear that they prefer we be careful with the Nazi material. (I happen to think that well thought historical references to parallel conditions and action and words should be allowed. After all, humanity has experienced that)

But the Anti-Christ is yet to come. So, maybe we could leave that out?

I am Tea Party, Christian, Constitutionalist, Conservative. It is my learned opinion that #neverTrump, an operation created by funded by and manged by Democrats and Establishment types, lies to people in order to maintain their power and wealth. Exit polls showed that more conservatives, Evangelicals etc voted for Trump than Cruz. It is also my learned opinion Cruz was a dishonest phoney. Apparently the majority of Primary voters agree with me.

Twisted logic.  Of course the Dems are against Trump, but how does that make a NeverTrump a Dem operation? A true "Tea Party, Christian, Constitutionalist, Conservative" could NEVER be a Trump supporter, because Trump himself doesn't support those causes, nor is HE any one of them.

Whats funny is that despite all the opposition, Trump appears more and more electable every day.

From what I heard this morning, a majority of Republicans have lined up as his supporters.

The weasel RINOs are lined up behind Trump because they are too sheepish to stand on convictions. To them its just follow the piper into the sewer.

It's at least the two, with a strong helping of blind spite thrown in.
