Prosecutors were stunned that by what the FBI asked her right off the bat.

When dissatisfied with the FBI’s line of questioning in the criminal probe into possible mishandling of classified information by Hillary Clinton, longtime aide Cheryl Mills and her lawyer got up and walked out of the room.

The outrageous action took place during a recent interview when an FBI agent brought up a topic that sources say was previously agreed to be off-limits, the Washington Post reported.

Mills, who served as chief of staff while Clinton was secretary of state, and her attorney returned to the room a “short time later,” but who else besides a close Clinton associate could get away with negotiating with the Justice Department on what questions it can and cannot ask?

The same sources said prosecutors were surprised the FBI investigator went beyond what was expected with Mills, who is considered a cooperative witness — assuming you ask the right questions.

As for the offending line of questioning, the Post reported:

The questions that were considered off-limits had to do with the procedure used to produce emails to the State Department so they could possibly be released publicly, the people said. Mills, an attorney herself, was not supposed to be asked questions about that — and ultimately never was in the recent interview — because it was considered confidential as an example of attorney-client privilege, the people said.

Investigators have been questioning Clinton aides recently and hope to be able to interview Clinton in the coming weeks.

According to the Post, Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon has stressed that his boss is willing and able to answer investigators’ questions and the candidate said Sunday on CBS’s “Face The Nation” that she has “made it clear I’m more than ready to talk to anybody, anytime.”

As long as you don’t ask any offending questions.
