Top Mexican Politician Says Trump Nomination Is An ‘Emergency And A Threat’

Posted By JP Carroll On 3:55 PM 05/05/2016 In | No Comments

A senior Mexican politician publicly stated Wednesday that the presumptive nominee status of Donald Trump for the GOP is an “emergency and a threat.”

“We cannot guarantee how Americans will vote, nor emit a public preference, but we can recognize that Trump exaggerates the topic of Mexicans in the United States and does not value his extraordinary contribution,” Humberto Roque Villanueva, the Mexican Undersecretary for Population, Migration and Religious Affairs, said in an interview with MILENIO TV.

Roque Villanueva operates under the Secretariat of the Interior, which deals with a variety of matters including Mexico’s intelligence agency and the federal police. The undersecretary described, “a triangle of analysis by the Mexican government to know how to best confront what we would call the Trump emergency.”

The three-pronged approach for dealing with Trump, laid out by Roque Villanueva, consists of appointing three key officials to the Mexican government. Mexico has gone ahead and selected: a new Ambassador to the U.S., a new Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for North America and a new Chief of Staff to Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

These three people — Carlos Sada, José Paulo Carreño King, and Carlos Perez-Verdia — are essentially the point men on policy towards the U.S. for a post-Trump America. They have been unofficially designated as the chief anti-Trump policy response team.

The Mexican TV network reported Roque Villanueva thought Trump was speaking “off the top of his head” when the candidate proposed that a border wall would be paid for using the remittances of Mexicans living in the U.S.

Meanwhile, former Mexican President Vicente Fox had a softer tone for Trump Wednesday. In an interview with Breitbart News, Fox apologized to Trump for having said in February that he was, “not going to pay for that bleep wall.” Fox then went on Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor and invited Trump to come down to Mexico.

Senor Villanueva is exactly right -- from his point of view.

But from MY point of view, I WANT a new Trump administration to become "a threat" to the policies of the Mexican government.

Mexico is no "friend" of the United States, and should be brought to heel, with military might if required. If it comes down to that, it really won't take much.

No wonder we're seeing attacks like this directed at Mr. Trump.

When you're getting all the flak, then you know you're o'er the target!
