The United States recently saw its first Muslim-majority city council elected in Hamtramck, Michigan.
But voters in Britain’s capital and largest city just delivered an even bigger prize to Islam.
London elected Sadiq Khan as its mayor on Friday, making him the most powerful Muslim politician in the Western world.
Kahn’s rise is a testimony to the fact that major sections of the city are already close to 50 percent Muslim, and critics say many of its non-Muslim residents seem comfortable with turning the top elected post over to a man with questionable connections to terrorists.
With most of the first round votes counted, the Labor candidate had a lead of around 9 percent over Conservative rival Zac Goldsmith.
Voting came amid fresh accusations from London’s chief rabbi that the British Labor Party has a problem with anti-Semitism.
Khan was accused of being unfit to become London’s next mayor after footage emerged of him describing moderate Muslims of being “Uncle Toms.”
Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis said Labor had a “severe” problem with anti-Semitism that would get worse if the party’s inquiry into the issue turns out to be a whitewash.
“This is part of the Islamization of Britain,” Pamela Geller, the activist-author of “Stop the Islamization of America” and editor of AtlasShrugs.com, told WND.
Khan’s ties to so-called “radical Islamists” such as Yasser al-Siri, a convicted terrorist and confidante of the notorious preacher Yasser al-Siri, should give pause to any sane Briton, she said.
When Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron exposed some of these ties on the Parliament floor, he was shouted down by chants of “racist!”
“That a man who has shared a platform with open Jew-haters could still be elected mayor of London is an indication of how far gone Britain already is,” Geller told WND. “In Sadiq Khan’s campaign, his opponents brought this up as a blot on his record. Soon enough in Britain, however, it will be a selling point for candidates appealing to an increasingly Muslim electorate.”
Yet even as Cameron attacked Khan’s background and connections to “radical” Islam, the prime minister was advocating for the importation of more Syrian Muslim refugees.
Cameron announced May 4 that Britain would accept an undisclosed number of unaccompanied Syrian children seeking asylum in Italy, Greece or France. Britain has already agreed to resettle 20,000 Syrian refugees, not nearly as many as Germany but more than the U.S.

Dr. Mark Christian, who grew up in Egypt the son of a Muslim Brotherhood father and became a child imam by the time he was 14 only to later renounce Islam and become Christian, said the rise of Muslim politicians in major European cities is inevitable given the brisk pace of Islamic migration.
‘Islam is Islam’
“This is definitely a historical event, a historic moment,” he said.
He noted that Cameron and Goldsmith, Khan’s opponent, have tried to connect Khan to “radical” Islam. That shows a fundamental misunderstanding of Islam and its long-term goals, Christian said.
“The narrative that he is connected to radical Islam is by itself something the West invented, trying to differentiate between regular Islam and radical Islam. Islam is Islam,” he said. “The mindset of Muslims, whether Mr. Khan is devout or not, is such that he will be used by other Muslim leaders to accomplish things that have never happened through the sword.”
What’s happening in Britain is “civilization jihad” in action, Christian said, as defined by the Muslim Brotherhood in its 1991 “Explanatory Memorandum.” This document, seized by the FBI in 2004, laid out the Brotherhood’s plan to infiltrate Western societies and destroy them from within “by their own miserable hand and the hand of the believers.”
The Muslim Brotherhood is now deep into its strategy to infiltrate and deceive Western politicians into thinking they are the “good Muslims,” Christian said, the “peaceful Muslims.”
Khan, for instance, presents himself as a liberal-minded leader. He even confided in a speech that he secretly fears his two teenage daughters could be groomed to join ISIS.
“When you look at what is happening in England, this has been building up for more than three decades now,” said Christian, who lived in Britain before emigrating to the U.S. “You have seen in the streets of England the rise of the real jihad, I would call it the violent kind of medicine. As the West has been subjected to Islamic violence and agitation, it has responded with political correctness, and the result is a Muslim mayor of London.”

In truth, the views of a “moderate” Muslim like Khan differ from the violent jihadists only as a matter of strategy. The end goal of the Brotherhood is Shariah, Christian said.
And Shariah compliance is already gaining an edge in the U.K., where free speech ends at the point one begins to criticize Islam.
And it doesn’t stop there. A British Muslim group that has received government funding has told its members that women should not be able to go further than 48 miles without a male chaperone. This is a key tenet of Shariah.
Blackburn Muslim Association, an affiliate of the Muslim Council of Britain, says it is “not permissible” for a women to go more than 48 miles, roughly three days walk, without her husband or a close male relative, the Telegraph reported.
The statement is on the group’s website, which offers “solutions and answers” to religious, social or financial matters according to Shariah teaching.
The website also suggests men grow beards and advises women to cover their faces.
In February, it was reported that Muslims in the U.K. topped 3 million for the first time with more than half born outside the U.K. That’s about the same size as the Muslim population in the United States, which is much larger. Muslims now account for 5.4 percent of the population of England and Wales, whereas they make up 2 percent or less of the U.S. population.
Mass immigration and sky-high birth rates have seen the numbers in the U.K. double in a little over a decade, the Sun reported.
One in four Muslims in England and Wales is under 10 years old, indicating a very high birth rate.
Robert Spencer, editor of the JihadWatch blog for the David Horowitz Freedom Center, said 10 years from now many Britons will look back and wonder why nothing was done to stem the tide.
“Do you think there will be beautiful multicultural harmony? Or do you think Muslims will be making increasingly aggressive demands for implementation of Shariah provisions?” Spencer wrote in a recent blog. “If you think the latter, you’re a greasy Islamophobe, and the British government hates you. You’re also correct.”
Islam+leftist activism = anti-Semitism
As Islam has taken root in Britain, so has the rising tide of anti-Semitism.
A new report published May 1 says there has been a “growth in anti-Semitism as a core part of far-left ideology.”
The report shows police forces recorded almost 1,000 anti-Semitic offenses in 2015 – a 25 percent rise over the previous year. Violent attacks on Jewish people soared by 50 percent, “yet there was a worrying decline in the number of cases where suspects were charged,” the Daily Mail reported.
“In one shocking case, a mob shouting ‘Kill the Jews’ stormed a synagogue in Stamford Hill, North London, smashing windows and attacking worshipers.”
The report blames the increase of attacks on Islamists, neo-Nazis and far-left activists, who often are involved in the anti-Israel BDS movement on college campuses. BDS stands for “boycott, divest and sanctions” against Israel, which is portrayed as an “apartheid state” by leftists working in partnership with offshoots of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Gideon Falter, chairman of the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, which published the report, told the Mail: “This data should alarm those responsible for enforcing the law. They are failing British Jews badly.”
Goldsmith, Khan’s opponent in the mayoral race, has focused on Khan’s past appearances alongside hard-core Shariah-adherent Muslim speakers, accusing him of giving “platform, oxygen and cover” to extremists, the Telegraph reported.
‘Human rights,’ but for whom?
Khan is a former human rights lawyer who says he has fought extremism all his life and apologized for sharing a stage with speakers who held “abhorrent views.”
Christian said it’s interesting that Khan is a human rights attorney. When the Muslim Brotherhood talks about “human rights,” they often mean something quite different than the typical Western politician.
“Always human rights in Islam starts with Shariah,” he said. “What that means is, human beings have rights that start where Shariah and Islamic law speaks, so Muslims have the right to talk as much as they want or say anything they want to say about Christianity or Judaism, but when it comes to offending Muhammad or offending Allah, human rights have no place in a society.”
“People can marry and divorce, but when you talk about domestic violence, Muslims have total rights to discipline your kids and your wife,” he continued. “They are not supposed to put a Jew or Christian in place of authority, and they are supposed to never support the state of Israel in any way.”
At the end of the day, the Islamic religious code is meant to deceive non-Muslims, Christian said.
“What he says, it could be a completely different meaning from what is understood in the West,” he said.
For example, Islam forbids killing any human being. “But when a Muslim says this and he is reciting the verse from the Quran, he is being completely true to his religion in his mind,” Christian said.
And how is that possible?
“The definition of the human being is completely different from the definition of the human being in the West,” Christian explained. “Because a human being is a Muslim. Anybody else is less of a human being. What he means and what he says are two different things, at least to the Western ear.”
Another example is when a Muslim says he is against the “injustice” happening in Jerusalem and the Holy Land. The Westerner hears this, and his mind immediately goes to what is happening on the ground at a certain point in time.
“But to the Muslim, injustice is the mere existence of the state of Israel,” Christian adds.
“So I wish people in the West would look a little deeper into what is meant by this statement of ‘radical Islam’ because it means nothing. And then too when listening to the statements of the Islamists, they need to ask the proper questions to find out exactly what they mean.”
Otherwise, they might just wake up one morning to the news that they have a Muslim mayor.
