It's already rained more here in Kentucky than it did some summers total in Midland.  At times I think I need to build an Ark...and find a brush hog for my back yard.

In SE Texas roughly a 1/3 of Aprils and early May are so wet that my riding mower  needs floatation devices to perform its designated task....... :bullie smokin:
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Parts of San Marcos got 7.3" of rain, we got around 3" here. The road looked like a river.

Yes, I saw photos of SM!  Amazing!

I wonder if @Bigun and @thackney are OK?  There would have been lots of rain where they are.

@Sanguine

Bigun is fine! About 3" of rain here so far and still raining.

No, but it happens.  So do clockwise direction tornadoes.

Mackinac Bridge closed to all traffic due to falling ice

Whoa!  If you need to get to the other side, you're screwed.

Its either that or take a ferry or a damn long drive.

The great lake levels are going to keep rising this year too.

Here's just how soaked Michigan is after spring storms

With that traffic you're not catching a ferry, and your chances at Ludington are nil too.  No, you have to go around the horn (Shitcago, Milf*ckme) or find a hotel in Traverse.  Better do that quickly, because those will sell out about as fast as the ferry rides.

Closures on the Mackinac are a disaster, for the folks reading this not from one of the Peninsulas.  I hope they clear this up soon.

My mother says they used to wait for hours to get to the upper peninsula by ferry.

St Ignace is only 5 miles away from Mackinaw City but its a 10 or 12 hour drive without the bridge.

True dat.  And most went 'round the horn.  Just didn't expect to get a ticket to ride, so they took the day's journey.

Michigan is a big state depending on where you want to drive to.

Its a shorter drive to NYC from Detroit than to Ontonagon From Detroit.

@thackney

Just an FYI.  I purchased one of those rain gauges such that you have in your pic a few months ago.  It's consistently been 1/4 or more off.  Next to it I have 2 glass basic gauges that always show 1/4 or more, MORE rain than the plastic one you have.  I'm not sure if it's the funnel at the top that is causing this or what, but mine is on the way to the trash can.  It's easy to read, but what good is it if it's not accurate.

Just sharing my experience.........

@mrpotatohead  @thackney

If anyone is interested, you can purchase a very high quality rain gauge that measures down to .01" for about $30.00 at the link below.  It's what I use.

Okay, now I fully expect something like that from Wingnut or Frank - but I have to say - I am surprised it was you.

Thanks for sharing some delightful middle-school humor that I never grew out of enjoying or laughing at.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775
