Trump and Clinton tied in the race for the Presidency! Couple this with the recent NBC poll that showed a virtual tie as well (within the margin of error), and the "he can't win" excuse is fading fast. This will be tough race for ANY nominee, but the truth is that Trump has already closed what was a 17% gap just last August. That's quite astounding, and its also an important trend. All that said, pre-convention polls are not of great importance as "predictors", but in this case these polls matter because they counter the silly mantra that he can't close the gap with Hillary.
