The Texas board needs a dedicated weather thread, IMO

I think I can do that.  Let me figure it out.

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

After we gather a critical mass of Central Texas posters, we are going to try to he together at Walburg or a similar place.

@Bear_in_RoseBear

UPDATE: It looks like we are more centered south and west of Austin.  We've been to the Gristmill before.

Other suggestions?
I suppose we can start a separate thread if there is interest.

DD - it might work best if you were to start a poll in a new thread.  Should become pretty clear where the best place for the most people would be.

I think I opused out today. I went to this thread http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3426293/posts?q=1&;page=151 and thinking I was out of timeout- posted the following that went to the mods:This thread shows that FR has devolved into- TrumpCentral. I was put in some sort of FR timeout for doing nothing but stating my personal opinion without name-calling or other leftist tactics used by the Trump supporters.  I am done with this joke of a website and will never return. I was a member since 2000 and I am a consistent Constitutional Conservative with a strong mind who is not susceptible to joining a cult of personality. Enjoy your echo chamber. Enjoy watching Trump either getting shut out at the convention, throwing another temper tantrum and melting down on twitter or losing to Hitlery.
So, I should be banned forever. :patriot:

Good to see you here!

Well, you're not yet.  But, the whole thing seems to be somewhat capricious.  Some posters can get away with quite a lot, some with almost nothing.   Weird place.

I had to look Cove up; I don't believe I've ever heard of Cove.

Are you in the oil industry?  I'll bet Midland/Odessa are seeing some incredible changes after the most recent price dive.

Yes, that's Basil pointing at the punk on a bike.  The Sarce is to her left and TxRangerette with the flag by the street.
@austingirl and @Gracey (possibly on the left)  and   @The Bat Lady   were there as well.

That would be cool. It's a big state though, and even then there are a lot of quiet days.

My apologies, I used the military abbreviation for Copperas Cove.   Bad habit I have.

I'm not in the business.  My dad was/is in the business...he buys and sells Natural Gas.  Saw the ups and downs and decided to do something totally opposite.  So I went into radio...then the military.

Yeah it's really a roller coaster out there right now.  It would help if there was a coherent energy policy in this country and a Chief Executive that would reign in the EPA.  Until that happens there won't be a lot of stability in the Oil Business IMHO.

Say, @Sanguine  would the Texas State chapter topic be a good place to post news articles of local/state interest, such as articles about what The Lege might be up to when it's in session, or what silly thing the Austin City Council (or other city council) might be doing? I suspect this is the right place for such news articles, just want to make sure.  ^-^

@Bear_in_RoseBear , this would be a great place to post news articles of local/state interest.  Just go to the main part of the Texas board, and post away:  http://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/board,106.0.html.

I'd love to know what the lege is doing.  It's very hard to do.

Thanks for the confirmation!  ^-^

Being close to Austin, I think a lot of state-related stuff out of the Legislature and the Governor's office gets reported by local media here that is not always picked up by local media in other cities. Things are fairly quiet now, as the Lege is not in session currently, and the next session doesn't begin until next January. But then, there's always goofy stuff coming out of the Austin Silly Council, like the current dust-up over regulation of Uber and Lyft.  Whatever is currently on the Silly Council's agenda can act like an indicator of the next cause that the leftists plan to push, since Austin's Council is so exceedingly far-left.
