Is this the new conservative strategy---lose with honor?
A person cannot maintain their honor by supporting someone they believe in their heart is dishonorable, whether others agree or not.
It's a difficult personal decision, and I wouldn't fault conservatives for theirs, not in this case. I had big problems with John McCain in 2008, but I wound up making phone calls and knocking on doors on his behalf. I did the same for Romney, about whom I felt a bit better, but who was far from my ideal. I even brought my daughter to an election-eve rally for him, where he made (in my opinion) the best speech by far of his entire campaign; sadly, it proved too little, too late.
But Mr. Trump may well be a bridge too far for me. We'll see.
