Less than 24 hours after saying transgender individuals should be able to “use the bathroom they feel is appropriate,” Donald Trump backtracked from that pro-LGBT position. Speaking with Sean Hannity on Fox News Thursday evening, the Republican presidential frontrunner decided that while he still believes North Carolina’s law overturning local anti-discrimination ordinances is “causing a lot of problems,” he thinks “local communities and states should make the decision. The federal government should not be involved.” This comes despite the fact that there was never any questions over whether the feds should have a say in the matter.

Transgender teen wins federal case over bathrooms, Title IX

A federal appeals court ruled in favor of 16-year-old Gavin Grimm, reversing a lower district court's decision. Grimm claimed the Gloucester County School Board violated Title IX, a law banning sex discrimination in schools, when the board prevented him from using boys' restrooms.

"The ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit marks the first time a federal appeals court has determined that Title IX protects the rights of transgender students to use sex-segregated facilities that are consistent with their gender identity," the American Civil Liberties Union said.

Why can't we just go back to a system of absolute property rights?  If I own a business i should be able to do whatever I want with it.  If it pleases my clientele and displeases others, too bad.  If i want to have gender neutral bathrooms, I should be able to have them.  If I don't then I should not be compelled.  What is it about this concept that is so foreign to people?  In the end, these issues always come down to either right wing social conservatives or left wing do-gooders trying to force me to do something with MY PROPERTY.  Once we allow that, and the cat has long been out of the bag, in time there really will be no rights associated with owning property that cannot be removed by the tyranny of the majority.

I will Colmes credit for keeping Hannity "Conservative." After Hannity got his own show he began to swing more to the middle, now that he is shilling for tRump he is full bore left. He has had tRump on radio or television over 40 times. that is more than the other combined .

Poor Happy doesn't see the difference between a Presidential CANDIDATE, and a First Lady.

I think you're right about that verga.  Hannity never has been what you could call a 'thinker' but with Colmes he at least argued from a Conservative perspective.

I remember years ago stopping in an open-air bar in Florida.  I pulled out a cigar and was about to blaze-up when the owner told me I couldn't because of the new laws there at the time.  It struck me and I said, "but you are the owner.  What do you think?"  He said, "it doesn't matter what I think".  It was one of those moments that stays with you.
