Pope Neglects Christian Refugees, Brings in Muslim Migrants

Daniel Greenfield

This is truly sad. While Christians are being wiped out in the Middle East, Pope Francis neglects them and focuses on those migrants who "truly matter".

Pope Francis chided the continent for its treatment of refugees and migrants. Then, leading by example, he flew back to the Vatican with 12 Muslims from three Syrian families under his protection.

How many Muslim migrants should the Vatican host? Well it can certainly handle far more than 12. So among other things, this is a show for the cameras.

Some European countries have been stuck with hundreds of thousands up to over a million. Are the overburdened villages and cities supposed to be impressed by an advocate for more of the same who takes in 12? And what controls will prevent those 12 from heading to Germany anyway? So this ultimately becomes charity at someone else's expense.

It's telling that it was 12 Muslims. Not any of the persecuted Christians of the region.

Not all Christians living in the Middle East have fallen victim to rape, terror and expulsion — “at least not yet,” said Malik. But developments since the “misnamed Arab Spring first erupted” in 2011 have been ominous, and represent “an acceleration of a process of emasculation.”

Malik reported 10 million to 12 million Christians lived in the Middle East before 2011. “Today their numbers have shrunk by at least 20 percent overall,” said the professor.

He said “indiscriminate murder, forced dispossession and enslavement by jihadis” have forced many Christians to emigrate out of the Middle East. In Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, the number of Christians has dropped by 40 percent within the last seven years, reported Malik.

And Europe is meant to be next.

What is it the Bible says again about good works alone?  Anyway, it seems more and more if the Pope is doing everything he can to impress allah, and not God, in attempt to save his sorry ass and keep muslims from burning down the Vatican.  He obviously hasn't learned a thing from history's mistakes.

You hate Catholics.  I get that. But don't add calumny to your list of sins.

I don't hate Catholics at all, just this Pope.  I think he is taking the church down the wrong path.  I know it has happened before but that was before mass communication on the internet.  Every time he says something it is all over the world.  In the old days, any church schisms were probably hidden from the masses.  He gives those anti-religion activists lots of ammunition to fire on non thinking college kids of today.

He's not taking the Church down the wrong road.  He is reinstilling in the Church what it means to actually follow Jesus, not just attend Mass and observe the commandments and think you're something special.

On the contrary, he is serving as a witness to the world on how to SERVE, not be served.
