LOL1

I have EVERY confidence in the world that sometime in November, 'President-elect Trump' is going to be chairing private meetings with carefully selected people regarding the economy and getting rid of Obamacare.

And what difference is it, if the first words out of his mouth are:

"Okay...what's the general consensus on how to turn this around with positive results  even somebody on 'Watter's World" would see?"

Some basic points are constantly overlooked. The ones doing the commenting, are mostly professionals and political hobbyists (like forums).

They have a shopping list of objections to Trump, from their "professional" standpoints. Trump is outside their borders, for what they expect and are therefore able to calibrate.

Voters, on the other hand, are totally fed up with "professionals" are are basically telling them FU. Trump voters.

Cruz is trying to straddle the professionals and outsiders. He is taking all the help from the professionals that he can get.

Do not rule out that some of Cruz' early supporters see this turn to the establishment, and reject him for that reason.

That could be the factor influencing his recent  polling indications.

So Manafort--who was the ultimate lobbyist for the last 20 years, doing inside deals for Saudi Arabia and New York interests--,  Tim Clark--another California rainmaker who knows the "establishment" of statewide government--and Tim Wiley--a 20 year veteran of helping the "elites" win elections are not "establishment"?

Trump is going to have to turn establishment if he's going to win.  Trumploos won't care though.  No level of hypocrisy is unacceptable to them.

Roy Moore's "spiritual warfare" is driving past a junior high without stopping.

All I have to do, MAC, is 'picture' Hillary Clinton sitting in that Office....and I shake like a retriever shedding lake water.

Absolutely agree, but not to the extent of seeing any of the candidates for our side as something they are not.  They all love this Country; they each have their platforms and their shortcomings, some with more shortcomings than others.  Kasich is part of the establishment voters are fed up with.  OTOH he has the experience during reasonable times other candidates would kill for.  Some of his platform wouldn't fly, though he has demonstrated the flexibility to negotiate to get much of what he wants.  Polls show he can win a general election.

Cruz has a conservative ideology no one could question.  OTOH, he has taken positions on social issues much of the Country doesn't hold.  He comes across as crass at times and some of his platform wouldn't get to first base.  He has made a campaign out of a policy of non-negotiation.  Polls show he cannot win a general election.

Trump has cashed in on disgust with the establishment and drives rallies that any candidate would kill for.  OTOH, he has insulted almost every group from the military to ethnics to  females.  People love his rejection of political correctness, but reject his love of the insult.  His ever-changing positions, and temperament show why his net negatives reflect in the polls that also show he cannot win a general election.
It's the Supreme Court nominations!

Trump doesn't know or understand anything,

What a mindless, thoughtless, stupid comment.

New York Post endorses Donald Trump for president
Steph Solis, USA TODAY 7:59 a.m. EDT April 15, 2016

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/04/15/ny-post-endorses-donald-trump-president/83065752/

The New York Post endorsed Donald Trump for president Thursday night, banking on the prospect that he will become more presidential if he wins the Republican nomination.

The tabloid's endorsement comes days before the New York primary on April 19 and follows an endorsement made by the New York Observer.

The Post described the Republican front-runner as a true New Yorker, a common-sense businessman who is inexperienced in politics yet inspiring. A "rookie candidate" with his fair share of missteps, but also a potential that outweighs those campaign blunders.

That potential will become more apparent, the paper predicted, if the GOP gives him a chance.

"Should he win the nomination, we expect Trump to pivot — not just on the issues, but in his manner," The Post says. "The post-pivot Trump needs to be more presidential: better informed on policy, more self-disciplined and less thin-skinned."

"Yet the promise is clearly there in the rookie who is, after all, leading the field as the finals near."

The Post did mention a number of "rookie mistakes" that may have complicated Trump's bid for the White House, including his support of nuclear proliferation, his answer to illegal immigration and his "political incorrectness." But Trump can smooth over the rough patches by forming more complex solutions to issues such as American interventionism, illegal immigration and trade, the endorsement suggested. And for those put off by Trump's demeanor, Trump might take a different approach come general election time.

Most of all, however, the editorial board expects Trump to deliver on his promise to "make America great again" without the government's red tape.

"Trump is now an imperfect messenger carrying a vital message. But he reflects the best of 'New York values' — and offers the best hope for all Americans who rightly feel betrayed by the political class."

You'd be surprised.

I spent a good amount of time running and riding commuter trains from Connecticut into New York city.

The left-wingers would be reading the New York Times.

The business guys would pick up the Wall Street Journal going in.
Coming home, they'd have The New York Post.

Although much of the Post resembles a British tabloid, it's actually quite conservative on the editorial/opinion pages. Been that way since the '90's.

I'm just a country boy.  You have to remember I come from a simple farming family. You know, farmers....the people of the land. The common clay of the west.  I believe you call us morons.
