The migrants at the Greek-Macedonian border are gathering near the fence again. According to field information, new tensions are expected soon and because of this the police have been deployed along the border line.

After they were attacked Sunday with stones and Molotov cocktails, police officers are now ready to deal with the migrants. About 24 members of the Macedonian security forces were injured in the clashes, with only one sustaining serious injuries.

During the clashes, the Macedonian police was aided by its EU colleagues who were not injured in the incident.

The fast reaction of the Macedonian forces angered the Greek Ambassador Theocharis Lalakos who sent two demarches in relation to 'unacceptable episodes which occurred at Idomeni' to Macedonian authorities, the Greek Foreign Ministry reported.

Ambassador Lalakos made it clear in a categorical way that the use of violence does not contribute to solving the migrant problem and it clashes with articles from the international and humanitarian law", the report stated.

The Macedonian Foreign Ministry deems that the well-organized and coordinated attempts of the migrants to illegally cross into Macedonia, including the involvement of many NGO activists are much like the incident from March 12 when about 2,500 migrants tried to illegally cross into Macedonia.

"Different reports point to the fact that the migrants were encouraged, seduced and organized by NGO activists to forcibly cross into Macedonia. It was also registered that there had been a distribution of pamphlets to the migrants with information that once they manage to cross the Greek-Macedonian border by using violence they would be able to continue their journey to the EU without any problems", the report informs.
