The leading organizer of the Black Lives Matter movement in Washington, D.C., told a CNN audience in a recent interview with Carol Costello that widespread black-on-black crime just doesn’t exist – the notion is fabricated.

“It’s important to talk about the myth of black-on-black crime as just that – a myth,” said Aaron Goggans, head of Black Lives Matter, DC, on CNN. “Any Google search of the term comes up with a lot of different articles.”

His comments came in context of discussing remarks made by former NFL Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, who slammed the Black Lives Matter movement for ignoring the statistics of black-on-black crimes and harping instead on instances of white officers fatally shooting black suspects. Lewis, as WND reported, posted the scathing assessment of Black Lives Matter on his Facebook page, and it shortly after when viral.

But not all responded to Lewis with favor.

Costello asked Goggans: “So, Ray Lewis is wrong?”

In “Scam: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America,” Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson – a true black leader whom many affectionately call “the other Jesse” – shows how the civil rights establishment has made a lucrative career out of keeping racial strife alive in America.

And Goggans said, the Daily Caller reported: “Ray Lewis is talking about a lot of myths and preconceptions about what the [Black Lives Matter] movement is. Intercommunity crime happens in all communities across the country and it is a problem that the movement of Black Lives is focusing on. The movement of black lilves is also focusing on state sanctioned violence. It’s a different thing.”

And Goggans went on, the Daily Caller reported: “It’s not just a few white cops killing a few unarmed black men. It’s actually the state systematically creating up systems that are killing black people, both black women, black children, black queer, black men, black trans and black gender non-conforming folks.”

An organizer for the Black Lives Matter movement suggested Thursday on CNN that the problem of black-on-black crime is a "myth," saying the activist movement is focusing on resolving broader issues of systemic violence.

During a discussion about a Facebook video posted by former NFL great Ray Lewis that questions the focus of the Black Lives Matter movement, Aaron Goggans dismissed the notion of black-on-black crime.

"It's important to talk about the myth of black-on-black crime. It's just that — a myth," Mr. Goggans, a Black Lives Matter organizer in Washington, D.C., told CNN's Carol Costello.

When pressed on his statement, Mr. Goggans backtracked and admitted that black-on-black crime does exist, and insisted that the movement is focused on resolving that issue.

"I'm saying that inter-community crime happens in all communities across the country and it is a problem that the movement of Black Lives Matter is focusing on," he said.

"The movement is also focusing on state-sanctioned violence, which is a different thing," Mr. Goggans continued. "It's not just a few white cops killing a few unarmed black men. It's actually the state systematically creating systems that are killing black people, both black women, black children, black men, black queer, black trans and black gender-nonconforming folks, and that's the issue that I think Ray Lewis didn't talk about in his video."

In the video, posted Saturday to Facebook, Mr. Lewis emotionally criticizes the Black Lives Matter movement for ignoring black-on-black crime, citing a dramatic increase in black-on-black killings in Chicago.

I frequently check out Mugs in the News or some such thing in one of the Chicago papers, Sun times I think, and they must be horribly racist since the VAST MAJORITY of mug shots are black people.

Not that there were no victims of unfair treatment, there were some. But what they did was give an entire group of people an outside mechanism to blame all their ills on, and absolution from the sin of doing nothing to solve them themselves.
