Rubio wins DC caucus
By Evelyn Rupert
Marco Rubio has been projected the winner of the Washington, D.C., caucus Saturday.
He beat out John Kasich by just 50 votes, according to the New York Times, ultimately winning 37 percent.
Kasich followed with 35 percent. Donald Trump and Ted Cruz trailed with 14 and 12 percent of the vote, respectively.
D.C. is a small victory for Rubio, who has struggled in primary contests; his lone win was in Minnesota.
D.C. has 19 delegates. Rubio will take 10 and Kasich will take nine. Cruz and Trump didn't win any delegates, which could bolster their anti-Washington talking points.
Rubio and Kasich will both make what could be their last stands on Tuesday in their home states of Florida and Ohio, hoping the winner-take-all contests will help halt Trump's trajectory toward the nomination.
