Danish police arrested a recent Islam convert who’s also a 16-year-old girl on charges of plotting a terror attack.
A 16-year-old Danish girl who recently converted to Islam was just arrested and charged with plotting a terror attack on two schools, one of them for Jews.
Police said the girl, who is accused of obtaining chemicals to make bombs to carry out her plot, had a 24-year-old boyfriend who once served as a fighter in Syria, the Independent reported. He’s been charged with helping her make the bombs, the news outlet said.
TV2, a local broadcast outlet, said the girl had converted to Islam just a short time ago.
Both suspects, who’ve not been named by police or members of the media, have pleaded not guilty, Jihad Watch reported.
The arrest and charges reignited concerns about the underlying current of violence some say runs through Islam.

Robert Spencer, the director of Jihad Watch and a best-selling author who’s written extensively about Islam’s teachings, wrote this of the incident: “When was the last time you heard about a convert to Christianity or any other religion plotting terror attacks in the name of his or her new religion and in accord with its teachings? … Yet despite the recurring phenomenon of converts to Islam being involved in jihad terror plotting, authorities remain absolutely incurious about this, and have taken no steps whatsoever to counter it.”
