Before this thread gets locked, and the way it’s going I don’t think that will be too long from now, I will give my 2-cents.
First, I’m not calling anyone a fascist. No matter who we nominate now or in the future, we ALL need to stay vigilant and be willing to hold them accountable and remind them who they serve - so that they never go down that dark path. And we need to be smart enough to recognize the birth of fascism when we see it. And we already did see it and I bet none of you recognized it. And it involved your favorite candidate.
What am I talking about? Look back at the first FOX debate. Every candidate raising their hand, swearing allegiance to “The Party”. As innocent and non-threatening as that pledge may seem, it is the first baby-step toward fascism. Pledge to a Principle, not to a Party. Pledge to the preservation of the Constitution not to a Party. Pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor as our Founders did, not to a Party.
Pledging to a Party is 1935 Nuremberg 2.0. We need to be willing to stands up and say we are not supporting anyone who violates our principles, and that should go for Joe the Plumber or a candidate for the highest office in the land.
