Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump warned GOP leaders Sunday against mounting a third-party challenge against him, arguing that they would hand the presidency to Democrat Hillary Clinton and allow her to stack the U.S. Supreme Court with liberal judges.

"I think it is really playing with fire," the real estate mogul said on CBS' "Face the Nation."

Mr. Trump said he was "surprised" by the concerted effort by Republican leaders to deny him the nomination and threats by some to get behind a third-party candidate.

"A third party means absolutely they will have four or five very liberal judges as opposed to four or five very conservative judges," he said.

The billionaire businessman and reality TV star said that Republican leaders should embrace the broad coalition of support he has built, which he said promises to carry him to the White House.

"Frankly, we are building up numbers that have been incredible within the Republican Party," said Mr. Trump. "Whether it is South Carolina or New Hampshire, the numbers are astronomical and I don't think they've ever seen anything like this."

He insisted that he is a unifying figure and not the divisive bigot as portrayed by the news media and GOP insiders.

"I get along with people. I am a unifier," said Mr. Trump. "I am very much a unifier and maybe people don't see that, but they will see that. My relationship with people has been very great over the years."
