For all too many others, Trump is Satan. Why is that?

You know why...because politics is the dirtiest business in town, and politicians the dirtiest sleaze bags in town. Worse than used car salesmen who put sawdust in a grinding transmission.

It's good that Donald Trump is not a politician.

If we want a damn chance to win, we won't nominate Trump.

Seriously?  Sit back and read this thread.  Do you seriously think Ted "the armor of Christ" Cruz is going to skate past the liberal machine?  Read this, and just get it, you don't have to even believe it--just get that Rafael Edward (Ted) Cruz, II will be pulverized.  The percent of women who will vote for may be limited to his wife and mother.  Unions are courting and meeting with Trump--not Hillary and not St. Cruz.  We have the world's attention again and by the time Donald Trump is sworn into office, leaders will be just a little bit afraid again.  ALL GOOD.

If asked what I thought Ronald Reagan would consider his most far-reaching mistake, I would answer:  "elevating the "religious" right to a political group".

If you want a damn chance to win, we won't nominate Rafael Edward Cruz.  We will nominate and support Donald J. Trump.

I'm a Kasich supporter, but I'll support the nominee if it's Cruz.   Or if it's Rubio or someone like Romney or Ryan who may get nominated at the convention.   The only one I'll never support is Trump.  I'm all for party solidarity,  but I have no loyalty to this dangerous and unstable man.

Besides the fact that he's actually in the other party.................

American citizens are economically hurting, fear the winds blowing from the Middle East, and want to end the inbred corruption of the political class. Americans want a new leader, a leader for these times---a leader from outside the bubble of Washington, DC with the kind of acumen and global experience to lead this nation away from the abyss.    Yet with a sprinkle of conservative fairy dust---sanctimony, judgment and hubris---their concerns are flicked off like lint from a lapel.

What the most vocal conservatives promote actually leaves a sizable majority of American citizens preferring to spit on a conservative than vote for one.

I do not want to change what you believe.  I am asking you to tone it down---leave some of it at home.

We need to fight a political fight---not a religious one.    Give us a damn chance to win.  Please.

See, the thing is, we don't believe he's the best choice for the economy, either.  Being President is different than being a CEO.  For one thing, when times are bad... you can't fire the ordinary American and escort them out of the country.

And secondly, the President isn't in control of the economy, nor can he hire anyone except into Federal service.  He has to work with Congress to have them write legislation that will either create/remove laws to enable business to thrive.  I don't see him doing that.  He's very clear about his leadership style, which is that he tells people to do something... and they do it.  Which will fail in the halls of government.

Thirdly, a President is supposed to represent all Americans, not just a segment.  (Obama's a perfect example of a failure in this.)  And Trump's big schtick is, in essence, revenge for the last 8 years.  Again, this is just another Obama in my view (Obama was the left getting revenge for the Bush years).  It wasn't right with Obama and I'm not going to be a hypocrite and allow it for us.

It's hardly an exclusive club - #NeverTrump.  There are millions of us.

There are millions who do  support Trump and aren't anti other GOP candidates. So that makes you exclusive.

See, the actual thing is, Donald Trump IS the best choice for our economy, too.  Being President is different than being a Senator.  For one thing, when policies and deal making goes wrong ... he can fire those decision makers, escort them out of his administration and bring in the talent American truly needs and deserves to replace them.  See, Donald Trump is best able to recognize that talent because he, himself, is gifted with it;  and he is able to make the changes necessary because he's got a spine.

And to your second point --- welcome to the consultant class---project specific.  You are just going to LOVE how that that will work.   ^-^

Congress will have to work with THIS president -- or lose their jobs.  No worries.  We know how well Congress can bend--especially when afraid for their livelihood.

I don't see him doing that.

See, that's obvious.  But, I am here to help you, John.  Honest--now is the time to expand your horizons,  see the possible, believe in yourself and America again.

I believe in you, John.  I believe you can overcome your fear of the unknown and help make America Great Again!   Honest.     Love ya, big guy!    :bighug:

You've turned on the posters and are now ignoring the issue of the thread.

Really? How have I "turned on the posters"?

My buddy A-Lert here has been doing yeoman work single-handedly defending one particular candidate (whose initials are DJT), the candidate who seems to be the sole target of repeated vicious political smears.

A-Lert has backbone and deserves a medal, not scorn.

There wasn't a shred of 'scorn' in what I said.
