I did. Apparently humor is in shorter supply around here than I thought.
Few of us are laughing at anything political these days.

I assume you Lite Cruzers and Boobios
Please, that's really juvenile. I don't like "Trumpkins" or the other anti-Trump epithets, either. Maybe we could discuss the relative merits of the candidates without invoking silly and childish namecalling. Both sides are guilty. Both sides should grow up.

The problem with your analysis is that the "anti-Trump faction" is made up of a series of individuals, just as the pro-Trump "faction" is.  Unless qualifiers are used, and meant, then there will be nothing but meaningless arguments.

But let me tell you something, DC...... your implying that I believe I'm on a Cross, since you know what I believe about the One who died there, is really out of line.   You can say a whole lot of negative things about me, but that's not one that I'm going to let you get away with.

There are a whole lot of martyr complexes among the individuals on your side too, so any accusation of me can be turned around and be just as, or more accurate.

Watch out for boomerangs.  They hurt.

You have been acting like a perfect martyr.

You take virtually every retort about the abhorrent behavior being dished out toward Trump supporters here, as a personal affront...as if your hands are clean.  They're not.

You have directly insulted every Trump supporter here on almost a daily basis.   Just because you do it with Southern Charm, doesn't excuse it.

That said, I still love you.

I love you too, DC.  Even though your opinion is skewed by your bias, and therefore is incorrect.

With all due respect,I haven't seen your posts castigating the use of "Trumpkins", "trumpet[te]s" and worse before this one. And those zingers have been flying at least a month. This was the second or, at most third, time I've used "Lite Cruzer", and the first time I used "Boobios". So why are you upset NOW?

Conservatives killed the Reagan mystique.  They always seem to forget that Ronald Reagan was a populist who considered someone who agreed with him 75% of the time was a friend and an ally.  Ronald Reagan shunned the purist.  And that's why he won.  Twice.

@mountaineer

Nonsense!   All you have to do to put it in proper perspective, is consider "both sides"  as Israel vs. Palestinians.

The Trump supporters here are like Israel.

If the Trump haters would stop the missiles, there would be PEACE in here.

I see a number of people in here begging for discussion without insults.

The Trump supporters have shown that any insults thrown at the opposition is virtually ALWAYS a reaction.  Never a preemptive insult.

The analogy fits...because we even have them begging for some kind of "proportionate response".

They all know where you stick that, don't you?

I disagree with your analogy, DC, but only ask that everyone here - no matter which candidate he or she supports - behave in a more adult manner. It's just a request, feel free to "stick it" wherever you like. (You know, like in your pipe or purse or some such place).

I see it the other way.  Only the Trump side advocates violence.

So, you disagree with DCPatriot.  Broad brush and all.

Or is it okay from one side and not the other?

I'm finished turning cheeks, just to keep some members happy in their safe place.

Quote
At a CPAC speech in 1977, Reagan talked about broadening the party: “If we are to attract more working men and women of this country, we will do so not by simply ‘making room’ for them, but by making certain they have a say in what goes on in the party.”

I love the way people wear the "I love Reagan" badges to battle someone who has a different opinion but the really have no clue what Reagan was all about.
Reagan was not about politically assassinating a candidate by the party and party leaders, he was always keen on building and expanding.

If the anti-Trumpers were really interested in the will of the people you need to take a deep breath and really think thru what you are doing and saying to the millions who support Trump and ask yourself it that is really where you want the party to go.

No offense, DC, but do you realize how much that sounds like, "But Mom, he started it!"
Mom replies, "I don't care, you're both stopping it right now!"

We really could act like adults here - all of us.

Trump is accomplishing exactly what the GOPe says it wants.   To broaden our appeal.

IMO, the bonus is that the SOCONS can haul ass and start their own Party.

Hell...call it the Social Conservative Party.

Said it before.

It's no longer Democrat vs. Republican.  It's Communism/Socialism vs. Republican.

So...if a liberal Democrat in the vein of Scoop Jackson...even with Tourette's Syndrome...grabs the mantle in the GOP...I voting for him.

No offense taken, M.   We go back too far for that.

We've tried what you're describing.   Even Tracy became active and asked us to show one another respect.

but eventually, when the little delinquents flip us the bird, it's time to go on the attack and kick some butt.

I've said this before....

The 'new' members that have shown up and posted over the past 60 days are all Trump haters banned by Jim Robinson.

They get an invitation to check us out....they see how we provide a forum for every POV...how refreshing...and then they see how the anti-Trump contingent already here can insult everybody without penalty.

Seeing it, they think they died and gone to heaven.

And .....here we are.

And it's not a pretty site.  Or sight.

AC, I love you, but it's disingenuous for you or any Trump supporter to play the victim card here. It's gone both ways. As a longtime poster here,  I'm tired of it.
