Donald Trump, Champion of Human Rights

 by JONAH GOLDBERG

An hour or so ago on Good Morning America, Donald Trump was asked about his commitment to racial equality. He responded: “I mean, there’s nobody that’s done so much for equality as I have.”

My first thought when I read that was something like this:

But then I heard him make his case.

Trump explained: I built the Mar-a-Lago club. Totally open to everybody. A club that frankly set a new standard — a new standard in clubs and a new standard in Palm Beach. And I’ve gotten great credit for it. That is totally open to everybody.

Nailed it.

To paraphrase Vizzini from The Princess Bride: Jesus? Lincoln? King? Losers. I built an exclusive club in Florida. Nobody does equality like Trump!

This guy won’t embarrass you as president. Not at all.

You know, I kind of liked the Judge, who was amusing in a creepy sort of way.

With Trump, it occurs to me that if you eliminated his stupefying ignorance, his penchant for hyperbolic exaggeration and his omnipresent insults, any one of his foreign-made suits would instantly fall to the ground, devoid of content.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Nobody's done more for equality than the guy who felt the need to say that the judge who ruled against him is Hispanic.
