POLITICS MAKES STRAGE BEDFELLOWS

"Donald's a great guy and a good person. But I just don't think that he's suited to be president of the United States," he told Fox News host Greta Van Susteren as they walked along the Jersey Shore.

He added: "I don't think his temperament is suited for that and I don't think his experience is."

Navy you know just as well as I do, that is part of politics. In 1980 G.H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan had a knock down fight, and then joined up to win twice.

Eisenhower didn't especially like R.M. Nixon. Kennedy didn't like Johnson.

Re your post 24 above:

I'd like to see a place for Newt Gingrich in a Trump administration.

Possible special advisor to the president, perhaps chief-of-staff?

Would Newt be worth considering as a V.P. candidate?

No. No. A thousand times---no. See my earlier post, and remimd yourself that Newt Gingrich actually became an avatar
of big government conservatism (amazing how that phrase doesn't ring rather like "promiscuous celibates" these days) . . . the
very big government conservatism that helped get us into this mess in the first place. He'd be the kind of pick that would
only consecrate one of the images of The Donald that those who don't support him hold, the image as an absolute friend
and bed partner of big government.

Elsewhere on this site, Fish, is an article on that topic: http://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,196498.msg794730.html#msg794730

Advisor to the president?  You think Trump's going to listen to anybody?

Put Newt in there as window dressing if you want, but Trump won't give him the time of day.

Newt's toxic. But, then, so is Trump.  So, they belong to each other.

Funny how Trump paints Rubio as a loser because he hasn't won any states, then gets all excited when even a bigger primary loser by the name of Chris Christie endorses him.

..and I thought this one only cost a dozen donuts. I was wrong.

Long History Between Christie & Trump’s Son-In-Law

.....“Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to receive $93M in tax breaks from Chris Christie’s State government,” read a tweet by Jewish Insider in November 2015. The tweet linked to a report by The Jersey Journal: “One Journal Square, the 666-foot, 56-story tower proposed by Kushner Companies and KABR Group, could receive $34 million in tax credit from the state Economic Development Authority at the agency’s Nov. 13 meeting. The EDA is also considering a separate round of tax credits totaling $5.9 million annually over 10 years for an entity connected to trendy office space provider WeWork that may be housed in the new tower. Kushner Companies, headed by Jared Kushner, and KABR announced in January that they purchased the lot for $27 million.”....

Christie knowing it would be his last debate had plans to lay wood on Rubio and take him out. It was well known that his attack was coming. I suspect a deal was struck.

I can only guess that those polls could pick more than one choice?

I think that's Trump-a-mathics.  Like with Trump, things just don't add up right.

So I guess Rudy and Christie will have a wrestling match to see who will be the Attorney General.

OMG.

That said...........Christie gave NJ instate tuition for illegals, driver's licenses for illegals......don't know who pays for insurance.   Welfare of all sorts to the illegals too.  After all, they would be dying in the streets otherwise....right????

Christie, yesterday and today, keeps referring to Trump as "Mr. Trump."

From Mr. Tough Guy to mealy-mouthed butt kisser.  And he said he would never endorse this cretin.

It took me three years to get over the great Sandy embrace.  then I started seeing him in a different light during the debates.  "Maybe Christie's not so bad after all"; "He's tough and going after everyone especially on governing experience".  I should learn by now to stick to my first impressions.   :thud:
It's the Supreme Court nominations!
