GOP wakes up to Trump nightmare

Top party leaders fear it may be too late to stop him.

Establishment Republicans are reckoning with something they thought would never happen: That it might soon be too late to stop Donald Trump.

With the controversial businessman the clear front-runner heading into Nevada and next week’s Super Tuesday contests, there’s an emerging consensus that the odds of dislodging him are growing longer by the day. Whispered fears that Trump could become the Republican nominee have given way to a din of resigned conventional wisdom – with top party officials and strategists openly wondering what the path to defeating him will be.

“If anyone else in this field had gone second-first-first in the first three contests, we would all be saying that it’s over,” said Mike DuHaime, a former Republican National Committee political director who guided Chris Christie’s presidential bid.

“I think it’s uphill, and Washington underestimates how uphill it is – and that’s because they’ve persistently underestimated Trump,” said former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who sought the Republican nomination in 2012. If he wins Nevada, Gingrich added, “What is it that’s supposed to stop him?”

The GOPe has no one BUT themselves to blame for TRUMP being the next POTUS. They created HIM by telling their base to get ______. Both parties but especially the Republican party have become the UNIPARTY of just making sure their own needs are first followed by the DONORS needs to keep them in office. They STILL do not understand with the passage of the OMNIBUS bill, election of Ryan, and watch the confirmation of a Liberal Supreme court judge coming up in the near future. And they wonder why TRUMP is going to be the next POTUS! :patriot:

Trump is conservatism's nightmare.  Trump is freedom's nightmare.  Trump is America's nightmare.........

We are near  the Big Spring runoff of the River Denial. Time to get on the Fair Ship Trump to avoid having your mental health swept away from your control.

Just grab onto the side. It will keep you afloat, so you won't go under and drown.

Miss this boat, and the next and only viable vessel, is Good Ship Hillary Sanders. They have all sorts waiting to pull you onboard.

Trump, Cruz, and Rubio all three have scary attributes.

Regardless of who 'wins' either the GOP nomination, or the White House, to resuscitate this country doesn't lie in the hands of corrupt and self-serving demagogues, it eventually still lies in the hands of Americans.

Russia and China are this country's two most powerful enemies, and the current state of U.S. affairs is absolutely applauded in Peking and Moscow.

While the USA is busy outsourcing it's industry and wealth, importing an historical trade deficit, erasing it's border, flooding every state with hostile illegal aliens, instigating race war, on the verge of bankruptcy and economic depression,  and losing the technology race in every sector, Russia and China are patiently looming for 'the right moment.'

Americans truly are their own worst enemies.

Did something fall on your head, t_s?  Why this sudden fervor for a Democrat?
