Bernie Sanders Supporter Says Abraham Lincoln Was Black

She is famous for that stupid experiment for teaching kids about racism by separating them by eye color and treating one group better than the other. She also happens to be a big supporter of socialist kook Bernie Sanders. Proving that crazy people are like peas in a pod, Elliot is claiming that Abraham Lincoln was actually a black man.
This one takes a little set up. Earlier this week fellow Sanders supporter Killer Mike dissed Hillary Clinton by saying, “A uterus doesn’t qualify you to be President of the United States.”
Of course camp Hillary and uptight feminist everywhere freaked out that a man could make such a statement. As it turns out, they didn’t listen to the entire Killer Mike quote:
“But I talked to Jane Elliott a few weeks ago and Jane said, ‘Michael, a uterus doesn’t qualify you to be president of the United States. You have to be, you have to have policy that’s reflective of social justice.’ Paying women a fair wage is social justice. Making sure that minorities have jobs is social justice,” said Killer Mike.
As you can see, the Atlanta-based rapper was simply repeating something Jane Elliot, a woman, had told him.
Gawker reached out to Elliot to get her take on all of this and her response was about as crazy as it gets:
“If President Obama had insisted that he should be elected because of the color of his skin, all Hell would have broken loose, and rightly so,” said Elliot. “Of course, everyone knows that he was not our first black president; Abraham Lincoln was, and he seemed to set a fairly high standard, wouldn’t you agree?”
It’s fairly nuts that Elliot thinks Honest Abe was black, but what really puts this one over the sanity ledge is that she insists everyone knows this to be a fact.
Like everyone else, Gawker was interested in knowing why Elliot thinks Lincoln was black and this is the explanation she gave:
“I read that information in a piece of material that I picked up at an African-American book fair several years ago. Of course, over the years, I’ve lost track of the book which contained that information, but checking it shouldn’t be too difficult, what with all the technology which is available for that purpose, today,” wrote Elliot.
Since Elliot is too lazy to cite her source I took upon myself to look this up. I think she is referencing some debunked revisionist history that says because Lincoln’s father’s skin was described as “swarthy” or “dark-skinned” he must have been “a negro.” There is also some nonsense claiming that Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, and Dwight D. Eisenhower were all black. They were not.
This is kind of how gay people claim that every famous person in history was really a homosexual. It’s done to make them appear more important than they really are.
Besides, everyone knows Bill Clinton was the first black president.
I think Bernie Sanders has a keeper in Jane Elliot and he should ask her to be his running mate. Bernie thinks orgasms cure cancer and Jane believes Abraham Lincoln was black. They could run on a liberal history and science platform.
