“A person close to the investigation, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the footage indicated that a terrorist network involved in the coordinated attacks on Nov. 13 that left 130 dead may also have intended to obtain radioactive material for terrorist purposes.” And they’re still trying. But note that there is no indication in this New York Times story (aside from the name of one of the Paris plotters, Mohamed Bakkali) until the very last paragraph about exactly what kind of terrorism is involved here. This article is just another example of the ongoing mainstream media efforts to obfuscate and downplay the jihad terror threat. If World War II had been reported this way, we would have been getting stories during the Battle of the Bulge about how groups of armed German men, one named Hans, were attempting to break through to Antwerp. Then in the last paragraph it would tell us they were linked to Nazism.

“Belgian Police Find Video of Nuclear Official at Home of Terrorism Suspect,” by Milan Schreuer and Alissa J. Rubin, New York Times, February 18, 2016:

PARIS — The police in Belgium have retrieved 10 hours of video footage of a Belgian nuclear official from the home of a suspect in the November Paris attacks, Thierry Werts, a spokesman for Belgium’s federal prosecutor, said on Thursday.

A person close to the investigation, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the footage indicated that a terrorist network involved in the coordinated attacks on Nov. 13 that left 130 dead may also have intended to obtain radioactive material for terrorist purposes.

The purpose of the footage is not clear, but one theory is that it could have been used to plan an abduction of the official and to obtain radioactive material by force, possibly for use in a dirty bomb.

The Belgian news media, citing sources close to the investigation, said that the videotape had been retrieved from the home of Mohamed Bakkali, who was arrested after the attacks and who is in detention on charges of participation in terrorist acts….

The high-ranking nuclear official who was filmed worked at the research site in Mol, where large quantities of radioactive waste from nuclear energy plants and hospitals are stored, he said. The authorities did not identify the official….

“If they find a way to spread such material among the population, they could do a lot of damage,” he said of the terrorist network, which was linked to the Islamic State. “Anything is possible; it is only up to them to come up with such evil ideas.”

Worth repeating.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Exactly.  We can never win this "war" the way we are fighting it now, and would never have won WWII this way either.
