--- Quote ---If a state lawmaker has her way, men would have to get permission from their wives before using the popular erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.

The request for permission would come after the men have twice visited a doctor.

Kentucky Rep. Mary Lou Marzian, a democrat, told the Courier-Journal she has a very specific reason for the increased regulation.

"I want to protect these men from themselves." said Marzian.

And Marzian's proposal gets even more restrictive.

HB 396 says that only married men would be able to legally obtain Viagra and once acquired, the man would have to issue a sworn statement on a Bible that he is only using the drug for erectile dysfunction when having sex with his current spouse.

Marzian claims her bill is in response to anti-abortion measures in the Kentucky legislature that would require a woman seeking an abortion to get counseling before the procedure.

You ever notice that most of the women who are for things like this ..... you wouldn’t want to screw them in the first place, with or without Viagra?

There’s such balance in nature.

ProDeathers have such a cute sense of humor.

"Tired of what she considers the government inserting itself into women’s private lives, a Kentucky lawmaker has decided to return the favor.

Rep. Mary Lou Marzian, a Louisville Democrat, has introduced a bill that would force men who want to use erectile dysfunction drugs to jump through a series of humiliating hoops beforehand, such as visiting a doctor twice and getting notes from their wives.

“I want to protect these men from themselves,” Marzian, who is a nurse, told the Courier-Journal.

“This is about family values,” she added.

Mazian told Fox affiliate WDRB that House Bill 396 would also require that someone seeking Viagra, Cialis, Levitra or Avanafil “make a sworn statement with his hand on a Bible that he will only use a prescription for a drug for erectile dysfunction when having sexual relations with his current spouse.”

Hmmm, I wonder if Ms Mazian realizes overcoming erectile dysfunction is somewhat qualitatively different than murdering a baby. Naw, I suppose not. That would be too much of an intellectual distinction for her.

Mods, I just discovered Flowers beat me to this story by 20 minutes. (Curse her) http://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,195202.msg786006/topicseen.html#msg786006

In any case please delete mine or join it to hers. Or, if you want, delete hers.

Thank you.
