Finland follows Sweden's lead and announces it will expel 20,000 of the 32,000 migrants who arrived in 2015



Finland has joined Sweden in announcing plans to repatriate tens of thousands of migrants whose asylum requests will likely be rejected.

The two Nordic countries are both struggling to cope with with an unprecedented influx of refugees and migrants fleeing war and misery in the Middle East and elsewhere, and they receive among the highest number of arrivals per capita in the EU.


'In principle we speak of about two-thirds, meaning approximately 65 percent of the 32,000 will get a negative decision (to their asylum application),' Paivi Nerg, the ministry's administrative director told AFP.

Last year, Finland made it more difficult from migrants from Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia to get asylum, stating that the security situation had improved in certain areas of those countries.

More than 20,000 of Finland's asylum-seekers are from Iraq.   

'In previous years around 60 percent (of applicants) received a negative decision but now we have somewhat tightened our criteria for Iraqis, Afghans and Somalis,' Nerg explained.

She said that the ministry is planning to set up separate transit centres for those to be deported from those wanting to leave the country on a voluntary basis.

The deportations will take place gradually as immigration authorities process applications. 

Two charter flights to deport Iraqis were already scheduled within the following months and about 4,000 asylum-seekers had already withdrawn their applications.

Finland is also in diplomatic negotiations with neighbouring Russia to stop migrants from entering Finland via the Arctic region.

After Norway barred migrants from entering the country on its own Arctic border crossing with Russia in December, the flow of migrants turned towards Finland.


Swedish migration minister Morgan Johansson said authorities faced a difficult task in deporting such large numbers

'We are talking about 60,000 people but the number could climb to 80,000,' interior minister Anders Ygeman told Swedish media.

Just like in Finland, the operation would require the use of specially chartered aircraft. 

Anders estimated that Sweden would reject around half of the 163,000 asylum requests received in 2015.

Swedish migration minister Morgan Johansson said authorities faced a difficult task in deporting such large numbers, but insisted failed asylum seekers had to return home.

'Otherwise we would basically have free immigration and we can't manage that,' he told news agency TT.

The fresh clampdown came as at least 31 migrants died trying to reach Europe. 

The bodies of 25 people, including 10 children, were found off the Aegean island of Samos.

The Italian navy said it had recovered six bodies from a sinking rubber boat off Libya.

In Bulgaria, the frozen bodies of two men, believed to be asylum-seekers, were found near the border with Serbia.

Nearly 4,000 people died trying to reach Europe by sea last year, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

What you are seeing in Western Europe now is the result of the same forces we have at play here: intense application of Cultural Marxism and globalist interests playing their hand more aggressively.  Unless it is confronted and slowed here, we will be experiencing the same destruction within 10 - 20 years.  (Timeframe always a guess, it is really hard to gauge the pace.)

Watching some of the videos of the Europeans "welcoming" the invaders, reminds me of the same types of facial expressions, actions, and sign waving that one sees on a lot of US university campuses.

True,but the good news is they ARE catching on and doing something to correct their mistakes. And given that they have both always been amongst the most liberal nations when it comes to immigrants and even went so far as to advertise for black immigrants because they were "too white",this is big news.

Maybe it will start a trend now that they have taken action?

I certainly hope so!

My heredity is 100% Swedish, and last summer I finally got to Varmland and visited the birthplaces of my grandparents and great-grandparents, and it has broken my heart, obviously not only that they are so far left, but that they have seemed to be suicidal in getting rid of what was a very special (in my humble opinion!) culture.

If the pendulum swings back, maybe the country will be preserved for another generation........

They have traditionally needed to band together to survive the winters,bring in the harvests,plant the crops,build the houses and community buildings,etc,etc,etc. Lots of rural people in the US tend to be be lefties for the same communal reasons.

People like that have never seen the evil side of socialism,so they don't fear and hate it. Why would they when their entire culture centers around cooperation and working with one another for the security and safety of the whole? Like everybody else in the world,they tend to think that everyone else thinks like they do,so they invited these people in and really and truly thought there would be no problems. After all,"They are just like us,but with darker skin,right?"

They do seem to be getting a wakeup call now,though.

Just can't resist a chance to take a sbarky cheap shot,can you?

IF you were a tiny percentage as smart as you think you are,you would realize not only that mankind has always followed patterns dependent on climate,population levels,available game,access to fish,etc,etc,etc.

You would also realize that every population on Earth started out at the tribal level,and that some,like the like the various Nordic peoples were more isolated than those in warmer climes,and remained tribal for longer periods of time. For example,almost all the people in Iceland to this very day share the same genetic traits.

You would also realize that today's economy doesn't have a damn thing to do with with the economy or the culture of 100+ years ago or the tribal ties. Apples and oranges.

Well,like all generalities,it is only generally right. When you are talking about individuals,there is no such critter as "One size fits all".  I was taking the "long overview" from caveman days to the 20th Century. Any anthropologist will tell you that all peoples started out as remote tribes,and communalism/communism/socialism is the ONLY culture that gives the people any hope at all of surviving. Take it one step back from a tribe to the individuals,and even today communism is the ideal form of "government" for a family because it requires each member to be as concerned for every other member as they are for themselves. There would be no hope at all for a second generation if this weren't true. Communism breaks down and goes from the ideal form of "government" once you get beyond the tribal level because only a fool would expect someone to give up their spare cow to another family 100 miles away that they have never seen or met,and will never see or meet. That cow might be necessary for their own survival at any time because the first cow could die. Having two cows when you only need one to survive is the basic goal of everyone because it provides them with a "survival cushion". Things like that were the first form of wealth,and it really didn't have anything to do with ego. It was all about survival in tough future times/

As for your grandparents,chances are they were the round pegs in the socialist square holes in Scandinavian,and that's why they left there and came here. The people who remained were obviously better "fits" in their socialist system so they remained there. By extention and due to genetics,their children are stil there for the same reasons. It "fits" them.

The thing about refugees in the US today is in these modern times we are no longer a developing country. We are actually a country in decline,just like every other first world nation. Instant communications,virtually instant travel by aire and teleconferencing,faxes,bat signals,etc,etc,etc means the competition for financial security today is fierce due to so much competition.

The plain fact of the matter than no sane politican can admit in public is that we can no longer afford to allow even skilled workers to immigrate here because we already have so many skilled workers that were born here out of work and desperate. They already have to compete with 3rd world workers in Malaysa,China,Mexico,etc,etc,etc,and we expect them to compete with foreigners right here at home,too?

Besides,we already have an excess of homegrown parasites living off the work of workers,so why do we need to import more that will do nothing but breed like rabbits and further bankrupt our economy?
