I too grew up in a Music House, what I remember was a lot of Eddie Arnold and everything from Billy Vaughn And His Orchestra to Zorba the Greek.   After that all I heard was my Mom screaming turn that shit down!  I actually believe she took my Marantz and made it look like a burglary and of course I bought a Guitar to pick up chicks but I discovered I didn't have to learn to play it, just buy a stand and put it there, you'll get laid, it wasn't till between my Divorces I learned to play it, It helped me score in my older age, playing Dylan, Beatles, Cat Stevens, simple 3 chord shit.  Now I just have Dogs, Beer, truck and I listen to Americana and Classic Rock.

Well, the gig got canceled, but there's always a next time . . .

I like this version the best, the Hootenannies out of Sweden did this in the mid-60s, that band had one of the guys from Abba in it. Their version is good as well. The song was written between 80-100 years ago.

Shanty Town @TomSea considering how old that it the quality was pretty good and that old big body 30's Gibson Guitar was phenomenal.

He wrote that "Suzanne", that's some song.  Among many others by Cohen, the music really goes through to the listener. I've discussed it before elsewhere.

This song by Kid Rock shocked me beyond belief. If he can do stuff like this, why in the world does he do the crap he normally does?
