Incoming President Trump should announce it's re-opening, right at the inaugural podium on January 21, 2017 -- with obama sitting there watching!
It is not that simple. Obama's broader plan was always to return the Guantanamo to Castro. Obama is a far, far, far, leftwing radical, and he considers the base to be illegally occupied by America. That is what Obama's illegal unilaterally resuming relations with Castro was all about. This was always his plan from day one. Also, it will be just another way to weaken America's position in the world, which Obama enjoys doing.
If Congress does not check Obama, there may not be a base left to re-open.
Others have said it before me, but I will repeat it here. We should be very grateful that Obama is the laziest President the United States has ever had. It seems he is almost always either on vacation, or a party, or golfing. This is a good thing. In fact, it is the best thing about his whole term. If he had accomplished even half of the dastardly plans he had set for the U.S. and the world, we would be in a much worse position than we already are.
Gun ownership would be illegal, America would have virtually no military at all, Israel would no longer exist, the Muslim Brotherhood would control almost all the M.E. and North Africa, Cuba would own Guantanamo and all the terrorists there would be back on the battlefield, the Taliban would rule Afghanistan, Iran would control Iraq, and the list goes on and on and on.
But now we have to be on high alert. Because Obama has screwed off for most of his term, he now considers himself to be behind schedule. He is going to go crazy this year trying to get all of this done before he leaves, regardless of any silly 'laws', and regardless of what Congress or the American people want.
Obama does not now, and he never has, considered himself to be a 'representative' of America. He sees himself as America's Ruler, and he will never allow America in any form, to stop him from completing his mission.
