Divisional round: Kansas City 20, New England 27
Gronkowski strikes twice as Patriots outlast Chiefs

The New England Patriots shook free from their December doldrums on Saturday, leaning on a pass-happy attack in a 27-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Playoffs. The Patriots advance to the AFC Championship Game, where they will face either the Denver Broncos or Pittsburgh Steelers.

No matter how the Green Bay Arizona game turns out, this has got to be the WILDEST game I've ever seen!!
Character still matters.  It always matters.

Well, that was a wildly bizarre game - end of it anyway. Two badly banged up teams put on an incredible game.

I think the coin flip that didn't flip going into overtime was the weirdest thing of all. Just try doing that...the Hail Mary at the end of regulation had better odds than having a coin not flip when you're flipping it.

Curious... Does the rule book say the coin must flip?

Well I don't know but apparently it does - there was a little argument there when it happened and the ref was definite - but what a dufus he was flipping it and not flipping it.  I've never seen that before.

Aaron Rodgers is AMAZING!!

He may be but the St. Louis  defensive backs that were standing right there in the endzone when that catch was made are equally amazing! Amazingly stupid that is!

If it's me there is NO WAY yhe GB reciver makes that catch and I don't care how many pass interference calls I get!

I think it may be the most remarkable game I've ever seen.

My husband and I were trying to remember any other with more bizarre twists and turns in it, and couldn't come up with one.

Good point.  They must not have thought there was any way it could be caught.

Maybe they were as stunned as we were that it got to the end zone.  ^-^

(btw, the Cardinals moved to Arizona a while back.   :dx1: )

Maybe they just lost their situational awareness on that play!

I had a slight preference for Green Bay.  I like Aaron Rodgers, and I really like Clay Matthews.  His Dad played for the Browns before the EVIL Art Modell stole them from Cleveland.

But I have no problem with Arizona.  I think, though, that they'll have to up their play to get through the next round.  Carson Palmer definitely needs that finger to heal if they're going to get into the Super Bowl.

It's only fitting that it be a PATRIOTS vs PANTHERS Superbowl.

The best (Brady) vs. the upstart (Newton), with an attitude to go along with the talent.

Tom Brady obstructed justice, went outside the league to get a court order striking down his suspension, and the league let him play anyway. They could have just paid him to stay out of the stadium for those four games, but they compromised the integrity of the game by letting him flout his suspension.

I hope Roger Goodell immediately vacates any Super Bowl win if the Patriots win. Show some freaking spine and enforce your own rules, if not on the player, then on the team who employs him. Of course he won't.

Agree!  Hopefully having a home game will help Denver beat the arrogant Patriots.

I totally disagree.  He didn't "obstruct justice"; the committee told him they wouldn't need anything else from him.  He recycled his phone, which apparently was a normal occurrence and one that someone who was married to a supermodel would want to do regularly.  The court slapped Goodell down because of Goodell's shoddy prosecutionpersecution of Brady.
