Former President Bill Clinton on Thursday avoided questions from a reporter about the public resurfacing of Juanita Broaddrick, a woman who in 1999 accused Clinton of raping her in the seventies.

Clinton was campaigning for his wife, Hillary Clinton, in Cedar Rapids.

“What’s your reaction to Juanita Broaddrick’s reemergence?” Daily Caller reporter Kerry Picket asked the former president several times, as Clinton was ushered out of the event.

Another reporter asked what he thought about Donald Trump making an issue of his “past transgressions” and if he’s worried it could hurt his wife’s campaign.

I bet he did!

This little counter-punch by Trump has thrown the Hillary campaign off-kilter.  If they are true to form, they will go quiet for a time and return later with the campaign driving a different message.

I was wondering what was going on.........thanks. Why the clinton machine is without a agenda and comment to fight back?  They are off-kilter. You would think they would have something on this in the can already to go?  Fascinating for me all of this. Why the heck they didn't think someone would attack them on this?????

In my opinion, which is all it is, the Hillary campaign was not expecting to be countered on her status as champion of women.  The Clinton's have NEVER been challenged on women's rights, even in the heat of the Lewinsky scandal (what CEO or boss could have survived being caught doing what he was?) and the regular "bimbo eruptions" throughout, they were ironclad.  Their status as champions of women's rights was never put in question by Republicans.  They treated it with genteel velvet gloves and such dignity.

I don't think the Clinton's ever imagined that someone would be so brazen as to take it right back to them, hard and direct.  They thought - as many do - that Trump was just a buffoon.  They underestimated him.  And when he hit them and it stuck, they were thrown completely off their game.  They are in crisis mode right now.  They have no answer because they never expected this, they thought it impossible, knowing and being able to control Republicans as they do so well.  But this guy is different.  Anyway, that's my opinion of what we are seeing here.

Amended to say: and you know how Democrat politicians work - coming up with a response is not that quick or easy.  They will have to brain-storm then focus group (to death) whatever angles they can come up with and then feed them to and train their media helpers to play along before using them.  They can't fight off the cuff, they are too prone to bad mistakes.  My guess is they will go quiet for a time (they can afford that against The Bern) and then come back with a completely different direction and different issue to push.

In a 'real world,' ANYTHING should be more than able to throw Hillary Cartoon off-kilter.

This isn't the real world.  Hasn't been for at least twenty years.

They have no answer because the entire world knows Bill Clinton is a whore-mongering sicko rapist and his wife likes him that way, while being a classic 'carpet munching' socialist queen herself.

What could go wrong?

Here's the big question:  Why in god's name didn't any of the other SPINELESS GOPe candidates think of this first?

Not to beat a dead horse.... But this is how the republicans need to learn to fight.
Slap your opponent when they are least expecting it and hit them with everything you have.

This is why bush/kasick/rubio/et al except Trump and Cruz have no chance to beat the democrats.
I don't like it, but that is just the fight we are in.

Therein lies the problem.  The 'republican's have nothing (to hit with).

Why didn't Bob Dole do this in 1996!?

Never mind, forget I asked that question.

Sure they do, but the GOPe wants to bring boxing gloves to a knife fight.

I have never in my life seen a more collective, firmly established, fully entrenched collection of utterly worthless political hacks, losers, and lost and confused morons.

50 years ago all of this was kept hush hush, as they all did it.  Bribes flowed like champagne at a wedding reception, the good old boy network not only was alive and well but dominated every aspect of government.  In public, disagreement was handled in a "gentlemanly" manor, never get ruffled, never yell, stay calm and never let them see you sweat.  This process gave us the likes of JFK and Reagan (and some not so great... ).

Times have changed, the political environment has changed and the republicans still think they are in the 1960's.  Trump is showing them how political wars are fought today and they don't like it.

I've tried, but so far have been unable to discover WHO Trump is actually indebted to.

What a stinker!  The SOB can't be bought out, won't sell out, and won't SHUT UP.

Ross Perot went down the same road.

Newt Gingrich at the time this happened was tapping (at least) several women at the same time he was standing behind the congressional impeachment podium.  How sick is that?
