If you've always wanted to try SoulCycle but wanted to wait until you could take a class with a former First Daughter, your time has come. According to Politico, Chelsea Clinton is hosting a fund-raiser for her mom's presidential campaign at the SoulCycle studio on Warren Street in Tribeca on January 27.

Interested donors can gain entry to "Chelsea's pack" and get a "premium reserve bike" and a photo with the former First Daughter for just $2,700, a price only slightly more than a typical Tribeca-area exercise class. Tickets for back-row bikes will run you $500 and half a day's worth of status anxiety.

Jenna Bush may want to attend class at a different studio that day.

And who wouldn't want to pay $2,700 to see Chelsea's posterior encased in spandex?

  • WE are NOT ok!
Actually, she'd have to pay me to take her SoulCycle class and $2,700 definitely wouldn't be enough! In fact no amount of money would get me to take her class.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Hillary Clinton Campaign Charges $500 Per Head for SoulCycle Class
Price of workout 14 times normal cost

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is selling tickets to a SoulCycle class hosted by daughter Chelsea Clinton that will cost supporters at least $500 each to attend.

Politico reported that the Clintons’ daughter will host the fundraiser at the SoulCycle studio in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City on Jan. 27. A limited number of tickets are available for $500 and $1,000, but only those who contribute the maximum $2,700 will be able to ride a “premium reserve bike” and pose for a photo with Chelsea Clinton.

Those who raise $5,000 for the event will also have the opportunity to attend a later Hillary Clinton fundraiser.

SoulCycle classes generally cost $34 per person, meaning that Clinton’s fundraiser class will cost between 14 and 80 times the price of a normal workout at the studio. SoulCycle classes last 45 minutes and are popular among celebrities.

Chelsea Clinton, a fan of SoulCycle, previously hosted a fundraiser class for the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Haiti Relief Fund at the same studio in 2010. The workout later this month will be led by Laurie Cole, a celebrity SoulCycle instructor who is also friends with Clinton’s daughter. One of the founders of SoulCycle, Elizabeth Cutler, has contributed thousands of dollars to Democrats, according to FEC records.

Chelsea is reportedly expected to participate in the ride.

Clinton Campaign Struggles to Sell Seats for SoulCycle Fundraiser
Seat prices dropped from $2,700 to $50

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign struggled to sell seats for a SoulCycle fundraiser hosted by her daughter Chelsea Wednesday afternoon.

CNN reported that some tickets for the class, originally priced at as much as $2,700 each, were reduced to $50 at the last minute when 60 seats still remained open. Late buyers were, therefore, able to snag tickets to the exercise fundraiser at a 98 percent price reduction.

SoulCycle classes generally cost $34 per person, meaning that, though cheap, last-minute tickets to the Clinton campaign event still exceeded the cost of a typical workout.

The 45-minute SoulCycle fundraiser took place at a studio in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City Wednesday. Chelsea Clinton, who is a fan of SoulCycle, was dressed in normal clothes and elected not to ride with the group without explanation.

A limited number of tickets to the fundraiser were initially available for $500 and $1,000, but only those who paid $2,700 had the opportunity to ride a “premium reserve bike” and pose for a photo with Chelsea, according to event details released earlier this month. Supporters who raised $5,000 for the event were also given the opportunity to attend a Clinton fundraiser at a later date.

The class was taught by Laurie Cole, a celebrity SoulCycle instructor who is friends with Chelsea Clinton. The instructor disclosed Wednesday that she had at one point led Hillary Clinton through a class.

First lady Michelle Obama is also a fan of SoulCycle. She attended a class in Washington, D.C., Sunday in the wake of the historic blizzard.

Chelsea Clinton headlined a second fundraiser for her mother’s campaign in New York Wednesday, which was hosted by a Wall Street banker and Clinton Foundation donor. Guests at the event were also charged $2,700 for a picture with Clinton’s daughter.

Actually, $16 is probably an accurate value of 45 minutes of Chelsea's presence, but only in the hyper-inflated New York City market. It'd probably be much closer to minimum wage anywhere else.

Chelsea Clinton SoulCycle Fundraiser in NYC absolutely bombs
January 29, 2016 | BPR Wire

 By Blake Neff

A $2,700 per head fundraiser hosted by Chelsea Clinton Wednesday afternoon attracted so little interest that the Hillary Clinton campaign ended up selling the last of its 60 tickets for just $50.

Clinton stopped by a New York City location for SoulCycle, a popular indoor cycling exercise chain, for what seemed like a quick and easy fundraiser. For $2,700, guests were promised a photo with Chelsea and a chance to see her in a relatively closed environment with few people.

But it turns out the number of New Yorkers eager to shell out to attend a Chelsea Clinton cycling session is quite small. Several people snagged tickets to the event for just $50, an amount barely above the regular price for a single SoulCycle session, reported CNN.

Despite the event being marketed as “Come ride with Chelsea Clinton,” Clinton herself didn’t take part in the Soul Cycle session, instead departing through a back door after delivering a few remarks and taking questions from the small audience. That may not be a terribly surprising development, though. Clinton is several months pregnant and also had to attend another New York fundraising event later that day.

SpinCycle instructor Laurie Cole made up for Chelsea’s early departure by peppering the class with several statements in support of Hillary Clinton, CNN reported. The class’s music playlist also included “Fight Song” by Rachel Patten, a staple tune of the Clinton campaign, though it’s not clear the association was intentional.

Cole told another class later in the day that the fundraiser had raised $75,000 for Clinton, reported The Daily Mail. If that figure is accurate, it would represent only 28 full-price tickets.

The way the clintons operate (and to be fair, most politicians) that is not what the $2,700 is buying.
